Had this game for 3 years and never played it as my wife gave birth to our daughter. Started playing it last week and I have a problem of my own making.
I found a lighthouse where you discover the red sword, finished it and collected the sword. However I have since been given the quest, as I have already completed it I can't get it off my quests list.
Does anyone have an idea of what I need to do?

Search for the quest, and follow the link to the UESP wiki. they will almost certainly have a list of commands you can put in the console to clea it... unless you are playing on Xbox or PS3,then you might be stuck, I don't know.

Did you try giving the sword the the quest giver?
