Finishing the main quest - advice needed

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:41 am

Hello all - I'm new to Fallout 3 and totally loving it. Looking for some spoiler-free advice though:

I heard somewhere that the game does actually end when you complete the main quest - i.e. it's not like Oblivion where you can just keep on playing. Without giving any spoilers away (please!!), is this true?

And with that in mind (and again please with no spoilers), how far along in the main quest is Tranquility Lane? (I.e. half way, near the end, nowhere near the end at all, etc.)

Just to set my mind at rest!

And if it's true that the game does stop when you finish the main quest, how do the add-ons work? Can I load them up afterwards and keep my character? Or should I start them before I finish the main quest?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Without the DLC 'Broken Steel', yes, this is true.

Without 'Broken Steel', probably about half way through. With it, probably near to the beginning -- 25% the way through, maybe.

If you don't have 'Broken Steel', then you just do them before the ending. Just make sure to save before the final quest. If you do. however, then you can do them at any time.

Hope you have many happy hours with Fallout 3. :)

There are 16 parts to the main quest and Tranquility Lane is #9.

Awesome, thanks very much for your help!

Sounds like I better install the DLC right away (I was waiting until I'd got into the game properly).
