Conjuration and necromancy (if it′s in). Why would I use anything else?

I think it would be great if they put necromancy in the game. Oblivion had that reanimate staff, I would like to see more of that type of stuff, I mean it has been 200 years since they banned necromancy. Imagine how badass you would be if you could reanimate bad guys you just killed to kill their comrades

One of my characters will be some sort of Ice Witch, she will mostly be using frost magic.

Fire and lightning. Mixture of both: fire deals the most damage and is about as traditional magic as it gets :flamethrower: . Lightning is good for fast-moving targets and the sound of it ripping through the air is cathartic. :shocking:
No frost because I don't find it appealing and I don't want to spread my focus too much.

My first character is going to be a battlemage and uses for the most part fire as a pyrokine cleansing away filthy enemies in the name of the Empire.

Lightning. I'm Zeus.

Also, I find the aesthetics pleasing.

I'm not voting. I have fond memories of watching Captain Planet as a child. :whistling:

In seriousness I think it depends on how they are presented. It sounds like they want all of them to be useful for different things. I tend to favor lightning powers usually but in this case it will likely depend on the foes I'm fighting.

Lightning is always best. Nothing resists lightning except General Magicka Resist (Breton) and Storm Atronachs.

I'd love to see that as well. Summoning a Skeleton is one thing, Reanimating a troop of bandits you just slaughtered to haunt the countryside would be beyond awesome.

As would slowly building yourself an army of undead at your manor, haha.

You could do that in Shivering Isles, it was an non journal quest where you brought back skeleton parts to the ghosts at the hill of suicide and was rewarded with a raise dead spell like the staff of worm but this was useable in the spell maker and long lasting.

Downside was that the raised dead just walked so they was slow, upside was that they typically would be levelled bandits in armor and usually weapons if they did not drop them then killed.

psh, i will master all elements since they seem to be equally useful.

Oh and heart was probably the most powerful power in the show, that little indian kid could have controlled minds if he weren't such a goody goody

Keep in mind that this is the same show that casted Whoopi Goldburg as God, Lol.

You said you'd master all elements, which reminds me of something I forgot to mention in the original poll/topic: Perks. What we've heard so far has indicated that you can choose perks that will enhance Fire, Ice or Lightning. With that it seems more difficult to be equally proficient with all 3, encouraging specialization - unless you were commited to spending enough perk points there to ensure that.

I'm personally hoping for more interesting perks than "Fire does 1% more damage, huzzah."

Here's some examples of what I personally would like to see as far as perks that have to do with the elements:

-Firestarter: Your surroundings - and your enemies - will be more easily set ablaze.
-Puncturing Ice Spikes: Throwing Ice Spikes now incurs physical damage as well as frost.
-Electrocution Solution: While channeling lightning at your target, if other enemies are too close some lightning will arc out to them as well.
-Its a Trap! Well...actually Its A Rune: Your Fire Runes, Ice Runes, and Lightning Runes have a larger detection and detonation radius.
-Frostbite (if limb damage is in, a'la NV): Your Frost spells are far more likely to damage/disable your foe's extremeties.
-Plenty of Fuel in the Tank: Using the flamethrowing-esque version of your fire spells drains less mana per second during use.
-Shocking. : Lightning strikes will now occasionally stun your opponent.

With what the Game Informer article said about there being benefits of one type over the other for different situations, I'd probably do a bit of each. Though I've never been a fan of damaging anything other than their health (I never use magicka or fatigue damaging spells in Oblivion and especially not attribute draining ones, I never saw the point). So I'll probably stick to flame for pure damage and frost for slowing down enemies that are attacking too fast (i.e. the trolls found in Oblivion).

Mages, battlemages, and spellswords, come hither. Which of the three assault spell effects we know to be in the game will you use?

Given the tendency for opponents to have varying resistances to various elements, probably all of them with choice depending on the current situation?

Unless the whole perk/specialization thing turns this into a more typical RPG where to be effective at endgame you've got to be a focused fire/frost/lightning mage, in which case I'll probably...go roll something in a stealth/combat hybrid.

What happens if you have something, like the staff of Apotheosis in Oblivion, with all elemental effects? Or will that kind of spell/enchantment simple not exist?

My pure Mage will focus on the other schools of magic. He will specialize in lightning when he comes around though.

I'd have to go with lightning. I just like it,here where I live we get lots of thunder storms, must be it... :)

As for cool spell effects I liked how Dark Messiah Of Might & Magic handled it.
