This isnt a fan fiction as i can barely write, its just a slightly longer than average backstory.
WARNING: Quite a lot of text, i have never done a backstory before and yes i may have got carried away, and sorry if its really badly written too.
Antonius was born in Kvatch, his mother Amber Warcroft was a breton healer and his father Edmond The Brave was a Nord Commander of the Imperial Army.
Amber was a mage healer from the Kvatch’s mages guild and had helped many people in Kvatch, she was the local healer and whenever anybody was hurt she would offer her assistance, this is how she met her future husband Edmond.
Edmond was a well respected man across the whole of Cyrodiil, he was the finest Commander ever to grace the Imperial Army, he had served loyally for over 15 years and he had never not carried out his orders, his contributions to the law and peace in Cyrodiil was simply sublime, he had over fifteen thousand troops under his command and he who did not respect him, feared him, the fact he was 6ft 7 and 280 pounds also helped.
Edmond and his troops were on a routine mission checking the local caves for necromancers, he would always be leading the pack no matter what. They soon ran into trouble and Edmond found himself sorrounded by 3 necromancers that appeared out of the shadows, his troops were 20 yards behind as he had raced forwards into the cave by himself, he truly was an astonishingly intimidating person and he knew this so he had never feared anything or anyone in his life, with a quick movement he dodged a fireball and with his blade he hacked the guy to his left down, nearly severing his body in half but as he drew his blade back the other two threw a spell to his eyes and fell to his knees in agony waving his blade aimlessly above his head with the other hand on his face, the troops took care of the overwhelmed necromancers and took Edmond back to Kvatch for treatment, where he met Amber.
Amber was rushed to the barracks immediately to start treatment on Edmond, the healers in the castle had already claimed the damage was beyond repair and he would be blind for the rest of his life, this news deeply upset Edmond.
Amber was ushered towards Edmond on arrival at the barracks, she was a master in restoration so if anyone could help the commander it was her. She knew who he was, everyone did and she’d always had a soft spot for him so made extra efforts to try and help Edmond regain his sight.
After 2 weeks of treatment Amber and Edmond got to know each other well, the bandadges were removed and Edmond opened his eyes squinting as the light hurt his eyes, slowly he could start to make out a face from the blurryness and saw Amber, she was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen, he’d partially recovered his sight altough no where near as clear as before but eternally grateful that atleast he could see.
Being such a proud person he took the discharge of his command quite hard, but he was handsomely rewarded with the biggest mansion in town, a more than generous pension and grateful to have met Amber, she carried on treating his eyes for the next few months to improve his sight, it was working but it would never be the same again and definitely not good enough for him to re join the Army, needless to say they feel in love with each other and had their first of two children, Antonius Warcroft The Fine was born.
PART 2 BIRTH OF ANTONIUS.
Antonius had a rough upbringing, not in terms of lifestyle, he had everything he could have wished for. Amber and Edmond were at wits end with him, he would never do as told, breaking things, stealing and even provoking fights with the guards. He had changed, ever since he was 10 he had nightmares and claimed something was happening and that the world would change, of course nobody believed him and he became isolated and was even an outcast at school, the person everybody picked on. The only person who would listen to him was his little sister Elena Warcroft, she was five.
When he was thirteen he was expelled from school for breaking the teachers arm who tried to force him to leave the classroom. He got grounded of course but he would always escape and disappear for days, Amber and Edmond always blamed themselves for how Antonius turned out.
He returned to school but his behaviour had got worse. He was in class one day and the teacher had left to the library to get a book, as soon as he left, the other boys started picking on him and it got physical, in the years he had been bullied they would only verbally abuse him but for the first time he got hit right across his face with a left hook from the biggest boy in the classroom because he ignored him and wasnt responding to his insults. Amber and Edmond rushed to school to find out what had happened. Upon arrival they were taken to the head teacher, an old mage in his 80’s and they both sat down. He began to explain what had happened, Amber found it hard to believe their son could of done something like that but Edmond knew what he was capable of,although he looked like a breton, on the inside he was pure Nord. Antonius had badly beaten up his fellow 16 students by himself.
The word spread fast about what had happened and many parents were angry, but they knew who his father was and of course nothing came of it as not even the count himself would stand up to Edmond, he’d long been retired but still had everyones respect, not to mention some of the boys fathers had seen Edmond on a number of occasions drunk at the Inn beating people up by the dozens, suffice to say no one even said a word.
Edmonds favourite anecdote was when Antonius was born, the mage who delivered the baby smacked his bottom to make him cry to make sure he was alive and healthy which prompted an immediate retaliation and with one punch Antonius knocked the mage clean out, every time they went to an Inn, pub or had any friends or relatives over he would tell the same story, he told it with such pride and passion who was going to argue it? The only two people that knew if its true is Amber and Edmond, the mage who delivered Antonius had long passed away, and even though he’d told the story a thousand times Amber listened in as if he was saying it for the first time and every time he told the story it brought a smile to her face. Of course rumour has it the story is slightly exaggerated but no one could deny it.
Antonius got worse, he was fourteen now but had the strenght of a fully grown man, he once arm wrestled an Orc who was a guard of the city and won, the Orc requested a transfer the very next day to another city because of the embarassment.
One day Elena returned from school with bad burns to her head, the other children in their magic lesson had used an on touch fire spell that set her head on fire and burnt all her hair off. Elena was in a shocking state, she couldn’t understand why they would do such a thing. Amber was also deeply upset and hurt . How could they of done this to their lovely baby girl, Edmond upon seeing her went straight to the count to demand the children be punished.
Antonius returned home after spending the day thieving and winding up the guards and saw her little baby sister, he fell down to his knees whilst holding her against his chest. What were these feelings? For the first time in his life he felt angered and shed a tear, he’d never cried in his life.
He knew who the culprits were and the actions he was about to take would change his familys and his life forever.
He escaped his bedroom at midnight and took one of his fathers daggers from when he was in the Army. It was 3 am and Antonius was climbing back into his bedroom window only to find his father sat in the chair waiting for him to return, Edmond knew he’d been up to something but couldn’t of imagined what he was about to see. He turned the light up and saw Antonius with the dagger in his hand dripping with blood. He guessed what he’d done straight away and as angry as he was he couldn’t stay mad at him as on the inside he was proud Antonius had taken revenge for his sister.
Edmond packed a few of Antonius’s things and gave him a lot of gold coins and told him he was going to have to leave, if he stayed he would be punished severly or even given a death sentence, if that was to happen it would destroy the family, Edmond would never stand for it and would fight to his dying breath to free his son and would likely end up leaving Amber a widow and Elena fatherless. Although this was hardly a solution it was the best thing to do, after all Antonius had just murdered 6 children from 6 different families.
5 Years later..
Antonius was 18, the first thing he had done when he left Kvatch was join the thieves guild so they could help him pay off his bountys. He traveled from town to town for years, he finally settled in the waterfront of the Imperial City, after many years of hard graft, stealing and saving he bought himself a shack on the waterfront. He would send as much money back home to his parents as he could, he knew they needed it, after what he’d done in Kvatch he tarnished the family name and they had been removed from their mansion and were both forced to start work to make ends meet. No matter what he’d done his father sorely missed him and was grateful that he had not forgotten them.
Antonius was working on the waterfront one day when he was approached by six guards who demanded a bribe payment to leave him alone or be thrown into jail, he was the split image of his father so it was only a matter of time he was caught for his past crimes, normally they would only send 2 guards for an arrest but for Antonius they sent six, he was not as tall as his father but still weighed 250 pounds, he had 150 gold and gave it all to the guards and knew he’d have to leave town after this else he would be blackmailed every week. 150 gold was a very generous bribe, it would of been enough to bribe anyone else but these guards never had any intentions of letting him go free, they took his money and proceeded to arrest him. The result was six dead guards men.
Thrown into prison awaiting his death sentence he’d gave up on everything, he was charged for 12 murders and would never see daylight again. He was in jail for 5 months, a shadow of his former self, the only food he’d eaten was bread and the odd glass of water here and there. He’d been beaten by the guards everyday. The reason he wasn’t dead yet was because the guards kept him alive to beat him as much as they could because of what he had done, he didn’t actually care or feel anything he just sat their taking it until he was knocked unconscious, until one day he met Uriel Septim.
Uriel Septim saw he was a deeply disturbed young man, he knew him from his dreams and knew that he had come from Kvatch. Uriel gave the bad news to Antonius about Kvatch being destroyed whilst they walked through the sewer exit, Antonius tensed up after hearing this as the way Uriel explained it to him matched the dreams he used to have as a child, realising it was a vision not just a nightmare. Had he taken notice sooner he may of been able to prevent the death of his family, it was now too late and he would carry the burden of his familys death for the rest of his days. Antonius shed another tear, only one, for the second time in his life.
He vowed to himself whoever was responsible for the murder of his family was going to pay in an extremely painful way.
Antonius had never had a goal in life, he never really felt attached to anyone or really cared for anything, even the feelings he felt for his family were alien to him but they were there nonetheless. He got given the amulet of kings and he could feel its power and it gave him some kind of hope, only a little hope, but some.
Upon exiting the sewers he took a deep breath of fresh air in and lifted his arms in the air and jumped into lake Rumare, he’d never take water for granted again.
He saw necromancers across the lake and he offered all the gold and weapons he had on him that he retrieved in the sewers in exchange for them to change his appearance, although he was a shadow of his former self they still thought twice about attacking him and taking his stuff, after all it was Antonious who approached them, so they did as he wished.
For the first time in his life he had a goal, avenge his slaughtered family, he also had a plan. He knew he wasnt ready to fight such evil just yet, he had to train and get himself ready for the biggest challenge of his life, live a quiet life until you’re 100 and die a nobody or die fighting as a hero, the answer to that was simple to Antonius, although he has no intention of dying. The rage, anger and determination running through his veins would of made his Nord father proud.
His first step was to become Champion of Cyrodiil, only then will he be remotely ready for what hes about to face...
Ok so be brutally honest what you think of this, i know RPing for some people comes naturally, it doesnt for me. Instead i've created this backstory in hope to have a connection with the character and above all else a goal he thrives towards.
Also knowing the past of his parents helps me too, specially his sister, he'll have a passion and determination none of my past characters ever had.
In terms of getting ready for "his challenge" im going to do the Arena questline, but what i will do with him is he will only have 1 fight per level, once he levels he'll know hes ready for the next fight and that way come out into the world at around level 20. He will be a breton warrior but as brute and blunt as a Nord. This character will be going places and no one will stop him.
Again sorry for such a big text, it was never my intetion for it to be this long it just kind of happened.
I have not yet created the character yet but im hoping i will by the end of the day.
