First City revealed.

Pete Hines tweeted http://twitter.com/#!/DCDeacon/status/28963471538262016 It claims that http://media1.gameinformer.com/imagefeed/screenshots/TheElderScrollsVSkyrim/TheElderScrollsVSkyrimMedia/Markarth01.jpg is a screen of one of the major cities. Obviously it is lacking in NPCs in that screen but it is probably not populated in the game at the time of the screenshot.

Don't fall on Pete's tweets.

He had claimed that this was a Dwemer ruin before... Mr. Hines has been on Moonsugar lately.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Makarth side? I didn't think that was one of the big cities ... then again, we only know about 4/5 big ones so possible.

Well, that definitely confirms that is Markarth Side, and not some ruins in the same area.

That was... unexpected to say the least. I figured it was a semi major ruin in the game but I guess it fits the description of Dwemer city carved into the mountain side.

Meh. I'd first like an explanation on why that Dwemer ruin doesn't look like a Dwemer ruin.

Pete Hines tweeted [src="http://twitter.com/#!/DCDeacon/status/28963471538262016"]this. LINK REMOVED is a screen of one of the major cities. Obviously it is lacking in NPCs in that screen but it is probably not populated in the game at the time of the screenshot.

You linked to my manip, which makes it look better... You should fix it to the real version.

I hope you guys aren't pestering Mr. Hines too much, he's been really nice, polite and forthcoming to the community so far; it'd be sad if he got a bad taste out of this whole Twitter - Skyrim thing and subsequently got really tight lipped and annoyed.

*shrug* Todd did say that at least "one dwemer ruin carved up in a mountain has been populated by humans". Seems to fit the description rather well.

I don't get it should be named Marcath though. Isn't it a bit west for Dwemer ruins ?

Was it said somewhere else that it is not a Dwemer ruin? Because as far as I can tell it IS one. And Nords moved into abandoned Dwemer ruins.

Well, if that's Markarth Side I could say it's an open city. Rather than an enclosed one in Oblivion...

It looks big, but not as big as I thought it would be, maybe it's because of the angle the picture was taken.

Gosh, Pete is making me mad.

Meh, it fits the main point of everyone being able to see it is a large multi-layered city when you look at it closely now that we (know?) that it's a major city.

Well it is definitely bigger than it looks in the pic. If you look at the bottom left you can see a few roofs to houses and if you look past the tower down into the chasm, you can see another tier really far down. If this is truly a major city, which I think it is because Pete most likely wouldn't have said it without certainty after the whole fiasco that just happened like 15 min ago, then it will definitely be a huge city.

After the tweets from tody I add a new explantion. Pete just hat a http://twitter.com/DCDeacon/statuses/28959308985139200 :P

Probably the angle. You look at the back, you see doorways and such carved into the mountains. Maybe half of it is in the mountain ?

Easy, the ruins are inside the mountain. The outside is newer.

It could both be a dwemer ruin and a city.

Furthermore if you're the same Silvade14 that's been spamming questions on his Twitter you have nothing to be mad at him about, he's already answered a lot of your questions.

Put Todd there! Damn!

Why Todd had to be so anti-social? Even I that don't like Twitter, Facebook have one so I can ask questions and such.

And yeah I am @Silvade14.

Your right, Todd said that the Nords made cities out of the Dwemer ruins. And yes, he is the same silvade hehe. Though he hasn't really been demanding out of his questions, though he does submit a lot of them.

Now I feel like I've been spoiled...

4 cities to go. :(

I was so hoping this was a random ruin, and that cities would be even more amazing. This is cool, and really well done, but I wanted more...
