It was a joke... Not all schools in America svck.

What was a joke?

not the schools. The system (not government) (spelling?)

Okay ...

raccoon butter
So you admit you know nothing about them, then say they svck.....

Let me guess, you got that info from listening to the jokes in this thread, and from watching hollywood movies?

Nope, I can't listen to text. :P
---
But no, not from movies, from other people and/or Wikipedia's article on the Amedican School system, I haven't been in an Amedican school, so I don't KNOW (emphasize, not yelling).

Just walk up to the biggest guy there (like 3 feet or something), and give him the ole' one two. Then they'll know you mean business.

Listen as in adhere to, not hearing.

Thus, you can't say anything about them cause you don't know what you're talking about.

To stupid comments? Yeah.

Oh yes, I forgot that Southerners start school earlier than up here. You should be fine, but I'd suggest not revealing your favorite subject, though I'm sure you realize that.

High School is as hard as YOU MAKE IT. Don't get involved in the drama or the bullcrap. Make friends with nice folks and you'll have a wonderful time.

Wikipedia is easier, than travelling to Amedica.

Learn to Fez (that 70's Show) :hehe:

When you say gang, do you mean a criminal one or other kind of "bad" behaviour?
What I meant was, what I would do. I would be my own, not depending on someone else or needing to be in a group/gang/someothertermforgroupof"similar"people to feel comfortable.

Excuse some or all spelling mistakes (except Amedica)

next one.

Listen as in adhere to, not hearing.

I know. -_-
EDIT: I actually don't know what 'adhere' means...
Thus, you can't say anything about them cause you don't know what you're talking about.

I know something about OTHER school systems.

To stupid comments? Yeah.

But of course... My opinion is stupid.

My freshman year (which was last year) was just like any other year of school. Teachers were jerks, they gave me homework, I didn't do it, I get A's on all my tests. Thats how my whole year went. Also, don't punch people. Apparently you get in a lot of trouble for that.

Make sure to join one of the gangs when you get there, don't drop the soap in the shower and it's pretty much shank or be shanked. Watch out for the guys with teardrop tattoos.

 walk up to the biggest kid in the room and just stick him in the face that will earn you some respect from the pecker woods

I thought my freshman year was horrible - pudgy kid in a new town. In retrospect, anything relating to high school was an absolute cake walk compared to being an advlt and dealing with a career.

In other words, enjoy yourself - it only gets worse when you're through with school.

You say that but I'd rather hang myself than go through another 5 years of stress, exams and teenagers. (that's 5 years in my country)

I'm scared... I know nobody there because I'm switching districts. Any tips and how was your Freshman year?

It depends much on the high school.

I don't know where you are from, here we have hierarchical high schools, the high school you get in here depends on your grades, getting in a high school here is similar like getting in a university, we don't have mixed performance students in a public high school like the US for example.

The good high schools here are ok, the bad ones can get pretty violent.

My dad transferred to a new post my freshman year. Of course I was playing football mid-season for the other school... And I continued to play for the other school all the while attending the new one. This was my team and I wanted to finish it out. Awkward, yes... But I was committed. At first I was a bit worried, but it seemed that the sport transcended geography. We respected one another irregardless of school.

Ummm... Damn. I was going to make a point, but got distracted by a call. Oh! I got it now. "Stick to your guns" as they say. People will respect you more.

Effing phone. The whistling wizard summons again.

Based on what my high school was like:

Avoid seniors. And juniors. And while you're at it, sophomores. Stick to talking to teachers and fellow freshman for as long as possible and you should be fine. Only talk to upperclassmen if they start a conversation with you, but always keep in mind that if they're talking to you, a freshman, they're probably only doing it to try to pick on you at some point if they're around their friends. Oh, and don't let them know about your disease that forces you to type/say Lucario every other sentence.

Also, try to avoid getting in to fights as much as possible. I know that's what you're supposed to do no matter what grade but things are different in high school. In middle school you'd just get a stern talking to, and maybe a suspension, but in high school, the administration will view any fight like an actual, real world assault, and you could very well end up with something on your criminal record. Again, this is just going on what my high school was like, were the administration was paranoid as hell and viewed even a single punch as attempted murder.

I'm confused. What's high school? I'm in the UK, is high school what we english people call secondary school? I really feel like I should know this but I never have and I never really thought to ask before.

I believe the British equivalent is college.

We started calling it high school specifically to confuse the English. Do you really think I'd reveal that information to you now, after my forefathers managed to keep it a secret for hundreds of years?
