My first experience in Oblivion

Post » Sat Jun 25, 2011 9:29 pm

I made my character, she didn't look good. Honestly, it was rather hard to make the character look pretty and even to look like a girl.
Anyways, I escape the dungeon - get out in the world, and I want to try then to look at my character 3rd person view and play.. but that was horrible, horrible and horrible... horrible! horrible! Okey.

So my question is, is there any mods out there that fix some of these issiues I have with my experience in Oblivion? Hard to enjoy the world, the you are stuck with pretty much unplayable 3rd person view (and that is your favorite style to play with aswell).
(I'm talking about me, my experience.. yours can be different, of course.. but you can make your own topic.)

So do anyone got any tips? Is there anything after so many years that make the character look better and 3rd person view play better?

I don't understand what the problem is. Are you saying that your character is ugly so you can't enjoy third person because of the face, or is it something else?

Yeah, it's hard to make a character in Oblivion who isn't homely at best. I've seen good-looking characters, however, and there was once a thread on how to accomplish it on here someplace, but I can't find it now. Mostly it just takes messing with the sliders until you've got what you want. You can also get Wrye Bash http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22368 and use it to replace your characters looks with some of the ones available elsewhere on the TES Nexus (look under hair and face models and game saves).

Todd Howard recently admitted that he didn't like the facial modeling in Oblivion -- he was quoted as saying something to the effect of "We should have called the "random" button the "ugly" button."

Just randomize the face until you get something you're reasonably happy with, then make any tweaks from there.

Just keep things simple. Go for a generic looking face, Dark Elf, and play 1st person. That is how I enjoyed my first play.
