First Impressions of BRINK

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 6:30 pm

My first impression of BRINK was that it appeared to be a vague knockoff of borderlands and i initially waved it off as a second hand copcat game. Problem is, im a huge fan of borderlands, so the thought of this new BRINK game crept back into my mind over this past week, so i gave into temptation, and begin to research BRINK.

Either i was near defying myself the finer games in life or just hypocritical after several bust in other games recently, But from what i can see and find so far, I AM BLOWN AWAY. I instantly grabbed my keys and headed for gamestop determined to for the fist time in my life of gaming(20 years) to preorder a game, and to my surprise it comes with a number of extra perks and special addons only available to preoders from there. Icing on the cake! I thought to myself, HOLY 5H*T, this is what borderlands wish it would of been, This is the on steroids, blow your mind slap you silly with total awesome sauce.

This was this past tuesday, and each day i am counting the days till this coming tuesday. I find myself searching how to make safe Molotov cocktails just to past the time. Even while playing my other games all i can think of is BRINK BRINK BRINK.

Perhaps the marketing researched voodoo techniques and hypnotics, because i havent been this excited about a game ever.

The BRINK BUG voodoo arrrrgggghhhhh.....is it tuesday yet?

Lol nice to see another Brink fan. One thing that caught me however, is that you stated that Brink is what Borderlands wishes it was and I really don't understand that statement at all. Just like Brink is trying to be Brink, Borderlands is trying to be Borderlands, so that statement is invalid. The only similarities is the art style which Borderlands did before Brink, so I don't understand why you would try comparing the two.

ANYWAYS it's nice to have a new member on the forums. Here's a turtle :turtle:

Brink is the first game I've ever pre-ordered. The last time i was this excited was probably when I knew i was gonna get a huge present for christmas. Ive seen like every vid twice, and am really looking forward for more 'get SMART' videos.
The first vid I saw was the customization vid from 2009 or something like that, but I didnt find anything else so I moved on. Then about 2 months back I found more videos and became more and more excited.. Now its just killing me ):

As similar as they look, there are major differences between the two. Although I am more excited for BRINK than I was for Borderlands.

Me i was just hoping my friends would be playing, not that making new ones would be too hard, but also hoping that this game would be developed well and that it is well supported
