First 5 Mods You Want To See

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 7:45 am

what are the first 5 mods you want to see for skyrim when the GECK is released.

in no particular order:

1 first person all the time (no third person kill cam, werewolves or horses)

2 better fort battles......maybe i was spoiled with my 250 npcs mount and blade battles on my 4 year old PC but the 16 or so npc battles in skyrim were just pathetic. soldiers would magically just appear right in front of you for no reason.

3 scaling destruction spells (this isnt necessarily about the issue with spells scaling so much as it is that i prefer using flame and sparks because chain lightning and fireball hit my followers all the time, id like to see a higher damage flames spell with a higher mana cost)

4 adjusted crafting rates......im all for slow leveling but alchemy is really really hard to level meanwhile smithing and enchanting are really easy to level. using just normal rates of finding stuff while adventuring and crafting it when i get to a town to sell, im always close to or over 90 by the time im level 30.

5 more summons. what happened to my daedroth, clannfears etc?

1. Magic overhaul.
2. Crafting overhaul. Fix exploits, while making it funner by adding several more recipe's.
3. Unarmed overhaul. Fix fists of steel, possibly add its own skill/perk tree.
4. Enchanting Effects overhaul, like real fire on the sword (like in FO3, shishkabob)
5. Combat Overhaul. Jumping power/regular attacks, able to move during DW strike, parry with DW, etc.

Didn't Bethesda put out a patch that prevents us from editing the executable? I'm fairly certain the "Unofficial Code Patch" usually fixes things by patching the executable directly, and if that isn't possible anymore..

1. Mods for X360.

That will never happen, also it ain't up to Bethesda, it's Mircosloth you have to ask, when it comes to mods,
Closest thing to mods 360 gamers will ever get s DLC.

Maybe Bethesda will do a community pack(of the best PC user made mods) that they can then port to 360/PS3.

You're thinking of Morrowind.

Oblivion's unofficial patch was just a massive mod of compiled fixes. The script extender team has also made an extender for Skyrim too, everything's fine :)

1) Hireable, customizable mercenary companions. (need a hireling porter to carry your stuff, sure, 100 septims please. Need a wizard master of alteration and conjuration? sure, he'll be right here...10,000 septims please)
2) Real faction questlines.
3) A better variety of mobs.
4) Spell crafting
5) The return of character stats.
6) Slower progression of crafting and enchanting.
7) A perk tree for unarmed.
8) Long delays for NPC's muttering their "I see the player, must say x" comments.

Ok, that's 8, sorry.

1. Only third person kills, even in first person (the third ones look cool/epic/etc. The firsts mostly just look awkward.)

Seriously, though
- DaRN UI
- Better hair
- Better skin
- Pretty armor/clothes
- some UI tweaks that change the commands, so that (for example) R isn't simultaneously "put ONE item IN box" and "take ALL items OUT OF box." :)

1. implement a polished attribute system (would probably include altering the perk trees as well)
2. return all of the spells that we were robbed of, along with spell creation
3. hardcoe mode where damage is realistic, you need to eat/sleep/drink, all items have weight, encumbrance is realistic, and hopefully sneaking improvements can be implemented along with enemy AI. Not sure how if all of this could be packed into one mod, though.
4. unofficial skyrim patch for all of the bugs
5. Guard overhaul, so the crime/thieving system is realistic and guards aren't psychic
6. MMM(marts mutant mod) for skyrim
7. seperate the melee weapons into seperate skills, and give them much more in-depth perk trees.

There's 7, not arranged in any particular order. I'll stop there :o

Awe, an apologist. How cute. Some people do not have working games, that's an undeniable fact.

Spellmaking
A good, functional UI
New companions with real depth (and no turning on one another in combat)
An end to auto-leveling
OOO for Skyrim (Yes, or someone else doing it, since I seem to recall that Oscuro is now in gamesas's employ)
