first person animation modding

so i've done a lot of research but have never seen this question answered fully.

if you mod a first person animation in 3ds max, and then copy it as a replacer to the correct path, it will play in-game normally except for dropping the camera view down to the ground.

i've tried creating a camera1st[cam1] bone as described in one of the posts i read http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/567941-1st-person-first-person-replacement-animations-how-to/, and following all the directions to the letter, but none of that worked.

i've also tried repositioning the camera's and exporting them with the animation, and again no effect.

ideally i'd like to learn how the camera actually works inside the animation and edit it to create camera-shake in combination with new attack animations.

for example i'd like to make some animations for the power attacks to cause the character to lunge forward and perform a quick attack. the current attack animations are incredibly slow and clunky
