I'm extremely fond of the 'feel' of controlling your character in games. Dark Messiah (a source mod) did it pretty well. What captivates me and really grabs my attention in most games is great movement/control immersion. I wish there was a mod out there for Oblivion that could achieve this for me. I would imagine the mod incorporating several different factors:
- Dynamic head bob
- Heavy, distinct walking/running noises (varies with weight and material of boots)
- Visible arm swing
- Motion blurring dependent on movement speed

Are there any mods out there that do any of that that I'm unaware of? I know of the Immersive First Person View mod, but the head bob of the vanilla animation is a bit lackluster.

Anyone else share this love of movement immersion with me? I'd love to see a mod that accomplishes a good first person immersion someday in the future.

EDIT: And have you played Mirror's Edge? The first person immersion in that game is absolutely amazing.

That Camera Immersive is the one I was referring to when I said Immersive First Person ^^. I guess it'll have to do for now, heh. It's a good mod.

Shame that mod isn't being worked on anymore. I heard there was a few bugs, so I still haven't tried it yet myself.

So... I've been looking for a mod that accomplishes a smooth / immersive head-bob and other first-person animations. Far Cry 2 is a lousy game, but I loved the feel of running, and the run-into-a-slide animation is something I covet for Oblivion.


Anyway, funny bug. I tried Immersive First Person View and this is what happened after a few moments.

A thousand of my character, recreated right in front of me. Performance grinds to a halt, but they're all saying "good morning" out loud to each other. Quite funny.

You're right.
It's something I really miss in Oblivion, but with almost every comment complaining about bugs it doesn't seem done.
Couldn't somebody who knows scripting finish it.
