First person, always. I just hope we can see our legs, it being "next-gen" and all.

First person 90 % of the time and third person when I'm ogling my character.
Both though first person is more heavily used.
3rd person is a real kludge in combat, especially with its off centered view.
I'm bi and I'm proud.
3rd to travel/walk, 1st for up-close exploration, sneaking, and combat.
i normally use 1st person but flick to 3rd now and then for a change
I voted first person, but i do make use of 3rd from time to time, comes in handy. Getting deja vu about this poll
I only play in 3rd-person. I am not my characters. My characters and I form adventuring parties of two, traveling the game world together on different sides of the screen.
And to think some people call it weird when you play as yourself in video games like this..
Play in first person, admire character/take screenshots in third. The gameplay & animations in third person have always seemed really awkward in Beth games, I just can't play them that way.
As for seeing legs.... eh, the few games that I've seen that done in, it just looked odd as hell. No thanks. (and really, there's nothing "next gen" about it - there were games that did visible first-person legs in the last gen. It's not some super advanced thing, it's just a visual detail that some devs care about and others don't.)
Weirder than effectively being a floating head and torso with arms?
In open-world games, were there? Do you have any examples? I'm aware of FP legs in various linear titles last gen.
Mirror's Edge also had visible legs, it should be noted.
It can't be massively intensive or costly though, can it? Do we at least cast shadows in FP in Bethesda games now?
I've honestly never seen my character that way in first person games.
This is one thing where I just can't see any difference between a hallway game and an open-world game. It's a few polygons & animations tied to your view location - size & style of world shouldn't have any bearing on it. (remember, people made "see your legs" mods for Oblivion. Not sure about Skyrim.)
