First Review

2. A 5 GB install is necessary on the PS3 to avoid some of the same issues players had with the GOTY FO3 on the system. The FO3 streamed and installed the game in the background as you played, sometimes resulting in freezing or stuttering that people complained about. If you quit before it finished installing in the background, it would start all over the next time you played. This and constantly over-writing the same auto save file is what caused most of the console specific problems. Obsidian and Bethesda are just trying to avoid that this time around. Start the 5 GB install, go make a sandwich and read the manual, then enjoy a better gaming experience.

Good to hear that, I hope that helps the stability. Also, since I got the CE, I'll be reading "All Roads", and if it takes long enough maybe start planning my character.

IGN and Gamespot are the only sites I trust for a review. Getting the game regardlessly of what it gets.

Same for me, but you should be aware that both of those sites do take bribes from companies for better reviews. I doubt Obsidian or Bethesda did that, however, as I've never seen any evidence that they'd ever tried anything like that in the past.

Yeah, the differences in gameplay, mechanics, options, graphics tweaks, controls, etc. was a pretty huge leap from AC1 to AC2. I almost can't go back to playing AC1 after the improvements of AC2. It justs seems so barbaric in comparison.

I wonder what they'll say about AC:Brotherhood. It's another game I certainly wouldn't mind "more of the same" from, though.

Even if NV really was just an official gigantic DLC, I'd be happy. Especially while having to build a character from the ground up all over again, that's probably the best part; and I get to do that all over again. :)

In addition to the graphics feeling a bit dated, Fallout New Vegas' story just never hit home with me the way that Fallout 3's did. Maybe it was the fact that Fallout 3 was my first title in the series to have ever played so I didn't really know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. This one not so much.

Why do I feel like he didn't actually play the game ...

I could've written that review a month ago. There was also no mention of the new mechanics or enemies or that lore is the way it should be.

Fake or not these people seem not to know anything about a good game.

A good game does not need improved graphics everytime a game comes out. It does not need a whole new system if the system before was good.

Fallout 3 had glitches, yes. Get over it, its hard to find every bump in a game when it is as large as NV is. Eventually if forumers post the glitches they find bethseda can patch most of the glitches. But get over it!

I belive graphics to get to a certain point when they are trying to hard. I love fallout and its graphics are just find for me. The gameplay is my main focus. I do not think that graphics can get any better if you have played Metal of Honor you will see what i mean. The game looked beautiful on a crap old small screen T.V.

But watch, next time a game comes out that has awsome graphics, but no new graphics the reviewers will be like.

"The game its self is good, but the graphics look the same as there previous game. This makes it feel to much like "Said game". Over all i give it a 7.0 for good gameplay but no system or graphic improvments." "Time to get my pay from the oposing game company"

Reviewers are idiots, or they are payed by companies to dog on the competition. Ethier way some of you out there look at reviews and say ahh... it got a bad review must svck, not gonna get it.

Then you end up missing out on the Game of The Year. Some people said Fallout 3 svcked... belive it or not... Then it got GOTY and those Reviewers completly changed there minds.

lol, this review is a definate fake!

How could you like Fallout 3 more then New Vegas, seeing as New Vegas is the same game as he said? He condedicted himself way to many times wich made it un real, along

with the fact that he never or hardly really mentioned any actual unique features to the game. So yea he heard about the Crafting system, but he did not even go into detail,

because he did not have the game.

This is what he loved about the game, "You know that old saying if it ain't broke don't fix it? Obsidian, the developer in charge of Fallout New Vegas took this and ran with it. Much if not all of what made Fallout 3 great remains intact in this latest tale from the wasteland.

He said he disliked this,"It is almost as if the developers just used the assets from Fallout 3 made a few new areas to turn the capital wasteland into the Mojave wasteland and called it a game." Wich summed up condtredicts what he loved. Also, this should not feel anything like Fallout 3, considering in the fact of the Vegetation, moutains, more lively, Desert, and the fact it was not hit with a nuke.

Also i love how he says,"Though your character looks so gangly and awkward that you may not ever use the third person perspective not to mention the fact that playing from the third person also makes it almost impossible to aim or pick up items." When as most of you know, obsidian fixed 3rd person so that you could aim, shoot, and pick up items.

In all we know this is a fake review, Bethseda said reviews start monday, not sunday. All the info he gave we found out at the beggining of the summer. In all this looks like a little 6 year old boy that had his daddy help him write a false review. He did not do his study, he obviously did not play the game, and he just utterly had no clue what he was saying.

That is my review about his review!

The guy's opinions seem to be based heavily on superficial aspects of the game, namely the graphics. He's obviously one of these guys who believes any new game has to push the graphics envelope a bit further or it's a complete failure as a new title. He never once mentioned quests or characters or immersion, although to be fair he did mention story. But he's obviously one of these guys that thinks if it's a new game, but it uses old graphics... urgh... what? I don't get it.

I just got the new issue of Game Informer magazine that has reviews for games being released in October and was disappointed they didn't have a review for New Vegas yet.

Isn't Game Informer the magazine of Gamestop? A store that's trying to sell you games? I, for one, wouldn't trust anything it said.

Edit: Same with Gamer Zone or whatever magazine I got a free copy of the other week from Best Buy. (though they do have a lot of coupons for stuff at Best Buy which is nice)

If he thought Fallout 3 had even a decent storyline then this guy has a few screws loose

Fallout 2 had a good storyline, especially when compared to Fallout 3. I expect the same developers who made Fallout 2 to make a storyline that is much better than Fallout 3's [censored] storyline

Lets be honest,
This here review made me cringe at parts and made me think is he even reviewing the game or the series of trailers?
Ive read alot of the comments in this thread and i agree with pretty much all of them, He isn't reviewing even a fraction of what the games promised so far,
So I personally think scrap this review, wait until the games released and wait for IGN, GT and what not to review it, we'll atleast get a decent one from them.

Im sure you'll agree, fallout 3 doesn't have amazing graphics but fallout 3 is one of the best games ive ever played due to the story, characters and the overall atmosphere.
This guy hasn't even taken that into account, Like one of the previous posters said he's written it from an average gamers POV and not one of ours,
So i should of expected a bad review like that.

Anyway i hope everyone enjoys NV when they get it :D

I'm not surprised that someone complained about it being the same.I'll be expecting more like this. The major problem is he only reviewed those aspects and not what else the game has to offer.Since I loved FO3,I'll love NV.I would be a bit disappointed if it does get mediocre reviews though.

Na i trust game informer... In fact i had no clue what fallout was until 3 years ago when i heared about fallout 3. I thought ehhh looks okay nothing special.

Then later on i got the game and it became my favorite. If anything they undergrade the game, Wich they did not.

A little surprised, it was all the complaints I thought that would be there.I take it with a grain of salt though as if the core Fallout 3 gameplay is there like he said then I will love it,
