After the obvious character creating and controls/video tweaks plus finding a match.

Oh forgot bout myself:
Checking if there are any shotguns one starts with, if said info is not yet processed by my brain 1.0 dual core processor.

Challenges. I want as many guns as I can get my hands on, as soon as possible. Then campaign. I always do the campaign first. :disguise:

The same thing as everyone else... create my character.
After I'm done with that... then challenges to unlock weapons and get experience for more outfits to make sure that my guy is ready when I go online.

Step one: See if my friend is online whom is as crazed for this game as I am.
Step two: Jump into the start of the campaign, multiplayer only.
Step 3: Suddenly wonder what happened and why I wreak and am hungry only to find it is 4am and I have completely blown everything off for the last what I can only assume will be 12+ hours.

I will either try to ask my Steam friends who have the game to see if they want to play or just play with strangers online.

agreed lol, then as soon as I can find something online, figure out which guns, attachments, and abilities are the best on average use those until I get to above average skill level, get bored of winning and choose the stupidest abilities and gun loadouts known to man.

Just a guess.

Make a sandwich.

Now that...is a good idea :)

I would probably start spazzing and running around my house then I would call up my friend and get him online. After that co-op Campaign FTW

if you're talking about after you buy it, no I will not make a sandwich, come to think of it, the first thing most of us will do is drive home, assuming we've preordered it for some midnight release, then unpackage it while driving so it's ready when you get home, grab the disk and roll out of the car, letting it crash violently into the house (explosion necessary), sprint towards the window nearest your Xbox/PS3/PC, break it, defenestrate any brothers using said PC/Xbox/PS3, and sit back and smell the fire (literally, your house is on fire).

Note: with 2nd+ (1st+ for you British people) story windows you may have to do some parkour.

Who wouldn't want a sandwich while playing Brink. The only thing to make the occasion better if the sandwich came with potato chips and a glass of milk.

I'll scan through all te menus, seeing what options are available, if there are fully customizable contrls (xbox), see what Challenges are all about, scan through the abilities and see what's avaialble (assuming descriptions will be available even if abilities are locked).

After seeing what default customization options are available, I will do whichever Challenges are needed to unlock everything I need to complete the look of my chaarcer, including weapons and attachments, then I will either play some Campaign or bot matches, with or without friends.

I just realized a friend of mine is getting this, so I will probably be changing my answer to coop campaign.
Of course, he will probably wait forever to actually get it. In which case I will stick to my original plan.
