First things first

The first thing we must remember is that Fallout MMO - is a MMO and Fallout 1/2 where a single player game. The game play is completely different. The 2 types of games are apples and Bananas’.

Speculation and “wants” are all fun to think and talk about but we, as the players, should not get our hearts set on any one “type” of combat or other game “functions”. Until we know what the Developers idea for the world will be we cannot even begin to start putting out wish lists.

The only thing set is the story; we know what has happened and now we need to see where we get “put” next. We know what engine will be used for the game, BIG PLUS there but that’s about all we know.
Will we have a big open world (sand box) to play in or will it be “zones” with level restrictions and content set within a given range. What makes the character; will it be skills based, level based, Skills and levels. Those are the 2 big factors, IMHO, that we need to know before any other aspect of the game can be looked at.

The developers have had “years” to think and plan out the game world they want to make. They have money and people and they know the abilities and limits of both. We know they LOVE this game and want to make it (hell they might even kill for it!!). I would like to hear what they are thinking and doing.

An “executive overview” would be great. A “Dev” or four coming on the forums and talking about what they can and giving hints about things they should not would be great. (thanks to Chris for what he has done so far!!!)

I guess I do have a wish or two: Change the name on the forums to Fallout MMO (if that’s the name that’s going to stick) and I hope there is more to getting in the Testing then just clicking a box… "It worked." (said after witnessing the first atomic detonation).

I don't understand how we're barred from putting out wish lists or hoping for features or anything like that, it's a wish, it's not meant to be all that realistic.

And I'm positive that some of our brainstorming has actually gone through to the devs of fallout online, I don't think the dismiss all our wishes and weird comments. Image

We do read and evaluate all comments.

We have a very strong "vision" of what the game should be. We aren't using specific mechanics or posts (mostly because the system design has been completed; we're working on implementation and content), but listening to the the discussions has been very useful. Obviously, the big threads, like PvP and character development, get more discussion and we see a larger range of ideas. That doesn't mean the smaller threads aren't useful, too.

So, please keep posting, but realize that we couldn't incorporate every idea discussed here. We have to maintain our focus. We're not suddenly going to change the game, but within the overall vision, the discussions here are making some tweaks or guiding us as we fill in the details.

Thanks all!

will we get a sort of sneak peak into the system design any time soon or do we have to wait for the beta? In gaming terms... Life's a die, then you bich.
