First or third person perspective?

Post » Thu Oct 13, 2011 1:19 am

I am actually quite excited about the improved third person. I like being able to see myself like that and it also makes you far more aware of your surroundings as you enemies coming from the side or back.

Just curious on how others feel about it.

3rd person for sneaky sneaky stuff. It'll show how shadowed I am

A combination of both for me...while im traveling i tned to be in 3rd person...even in combat i go 3rd person...an example is the last part of lighting the dragon fires...with so many daedra you kind of had to be in 3rd person

i used 1st for battle and 3rd while traveling in Oblivion so an improvement won't kill me. but if 3rd person is just as functional as 1st person then i will use it all the time. i like to see my character

I use 3rd person as often as I can in Oblivion, even for bow & arrow fights and throwing spells. Skyrim will be no different. But truth is I sometimes have to switch to 1st, just to see a little better into rooms and while trying to locate dropped items, etc. So both for me.

I guess as the only person who's voted for third (so far, at least) the only way I can justify it is on the basis of the whole "Go! dude I created... Go! Go! Go!" part of the experience... That, and the fact that it reminds me I'm not playing 'Doom'.

Why say OR when you can say AND?

1st person for combat and 3rd person at any other time works the best I think.

remember zelda Links adventure?
traveling along the map was one thing but fighting ...well that was another.
some time I'll be on first and change to third just to enjoy the view with my character on it
and maybe fight on third but change to first for a closer look in to the eye of my enemy.

First person all the time. I'll only use third person to stare at my character.

I see through my own eyes, so why would I want to be reminded that Skyrim is just a game by having an over the shoulder view?

I hardly ever use 3rd person. Just didn't work well for me in OB. I'll give it another try in Skyrim though.

3rd person looks beyond improved. I'll definitely want to watch my character walk at times.

I will try third person but if it svcks imo then I will stay fully 1st person.

If I like it enough I will probably do both from time to time.

Strictly first-person.

Third-person is garbage to me.

1st person when I am fighting and in a town speaking to people or something of that nature.

3rd person when I am sneaking around, I can pan the view of the camera to get better angles and look around corners and such. Also when I am just running about getting to a certain destination.

I will most of the time use the first person view, and certainly during combat phase. But from time to time I will switch the third person view to admirate my character look ( ^ _ ^ )
