First time I play morrowind: GCD or not?

Post » Fri Jul 19, 2013 7:27 pm

Hi everyone, I'm playing Morrowind for my first time

I installed the graphic overhaul
Btb improvements

GCD overhaul

But, having never played Morrowind before, I'm still undecided if I should activate or not Gcd. Your advise?

If this is your first time, I suggest stop at MGSO.MGSO makes the game prettier without altering gameplay, so should be fine.

BTB's mod changes many aspects of the game, some quite dramatically and GCD completely changes how a character grow so I'd leave them till later.

Try the game vanilla first, follow the MQ till you gain a couple of levels, raid some caves along the path of SeydaNeen - Pelagiad - Balmora Road to understand combat better, talk to people and give some time taking things slowly and understand the game. Then try the mods for things you don't like.

If it's the first time you play it why don't you just try it as it is?

I'm personally back to Morrowind; I've played it years ago. Up to now, I was used to install the Morrowind code patch and the patch project but I decided to go back to vanilla Morrowind and I discovered that these patches changed many things that didn't need to be changed. The only graphics mods I'm using are Better Bodies and Better clothes. If you are really interested in this game, you don't need graphics mods that make it "prettier".
