hi

so this is my first time playing oblivion on pc, i've played on xbox for about 300 hours so i basically know everything,
what i want to know is stuff like mods, since i never had the opportunity in xbox, wich video settings are necessary (i have never played computer games like i've played xbox) and just some other cool tips.

I think it all depends upon the strength of your video card, processor and memory. Barring a few mods specifically upgrading textures or something along those lines, the vast majority of mods are going to run with the same settings that vanilla Oblivion uses. If you have the horsepower, you can crank everything up to the max and go. If you don't have the horsepower, you'll need to tone it down, regardless of the mods. I'm running dual GeForce 9800s in SLI and have no performance issues. My personal aesthetic preference is to tone down the grass because at default settings it's often too hard to find and loot the bodies, but leaving it alone does not seem to impact performance for me.

yeah but i dont really care about the graphics, i just wanna know about some good mods that add to the length of the game, like quests and such.

I would suggest going through the mods forum, particularly the sticky posts. That's necessary in order to gain understanding of how to use mods, various sites for them, etc.

Well the mods I can't play without are Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul, Martigen's Monster Mod, and Armamentarium Complete.

Completely changes the Oblivion experience around, like a whole new game.

I also have a slew of house mods that I use, like Ranger House, Bravil Sead Domes, and anything by Trollf.
