This is what I started with: i7-2600k - CM cpu cooler, EVGA gtx570 sli, corsair vengeance 8gb ram, zalman psu, and HAF-X case. Basically my computer looked like a christmas tree (UGLY) - red front fan, blue motherboard, green lights on the gpu cooler, white led fan on top (I accidently bought white) - it was pretty disgusting

I just really loved the look of the Heatkiller cpu water blocks and the GPU "hole edition" blocks. My res/pump combo is XSPC dual bay res with D5 laing pump. Also got some feser clear/uv blue tubing, uv blue anti-kink coils, 360mm x-flow radiator (liked the clean look of the x-flow) and all matt black Bitspower compression fittings (expensive as hell!).
Installing the Blocks on the CPU and GPU's was not hard at all. Getting the stock coolers off the GPU's though was a B*tch - thought I broke them like 3 times and stripped every darn screw. But it eventually started going together nicely

Alright, finally got it all together, When i first started leak testing i thought for sure i was going to find a leak, but 2 hours now and still good to go

Ok finally got it all back together and looks pretty darn good except all those yellow/orange wires hanging everywhere

So i learn how to do a custom sleeving job (not easy without the right tools) and finally get it all in there

Now its fun time to start pwning some noobs at some crysis 2. By the way this crysis 2 game has cost me close to 4 grand now since the whole reason i built this rig in the first place was to play crysis 2, thanks crytek! No seriously I will never go back to air cooling. I am extremely impressed with the cooling results. my GPU temps have dropped 30 deg celcius (no joke) after 2 hours of gaming they dont go above 43 degrees. My CPU on the other hand is good but not much of a difference ( I had a pretty good cooler master cpu cooler before) - runs in the low 50's at max load and about 36 idle (used to idle at 32), dunno why? but Its been an extremely fun project - took about 1 week total after I ordered things 3 times from frozencpu. Any comments are welcome

Question for ya, do you have the water going from the GPUs to the CPU? That's why you might be noticing not that significant of a drop in temperatures of the CPU because the hot water from the GPUs is trying to cool the CPU. When I was speculating I took into consideration getting two reservoirs.

Looks sweet, although the anti kink coils take away from the looks a little imo. How did you like working with the HAF-X? They are a great case and I had very few problems putting water in mine.
As SDub said, adding the GPU temps into the cooling loop would cause the added cpu temp, dependent on which way the coolant flows.
What are you using in the loop to keep the nasties away?

I used to think that way when I first built my loop. I originally wanted 2 independent loops until some folks on ocn did some tests using 1 vs 2 loops. So, when they ran 1 all inclusive loop, irrespective of loop order, after around 10 minutes under a reasonable load all temps normalized. Normalized meaning no matter how the loop was done order wise, temps remained the same on cpu and gpu. When they ran dual loops (loop, pump, res, and rad) some temp differences were seen. The biggest differences were seen when running a gpu and cpu with huge differences in typical temps. Overall I think it's a lot of work to run dual loops for a minimal gain. Dunno if the way I worded this makes sense and Ill try to dig up the thread in ocn.....Cool 1st loop build though congrats. Heatkiller makes some great stuff

I am thinking of going water on my next comp. Spent 3.3K on current comp over2 years and would seek to reuse some parts.
