First World Archer Problems...

Post » Sat May 18, 2013 2:35 am

lol, Faendal, my Steward at Lakeshore Manor still tells me that he hopes I don't plan any trouble when I walk in the door. And he never sleeps. So yeah, I can see him holding on to his original bow. Kinda like on Peanuts when Linus doesn't want to let go of his blanket.

I'd imagine the law enforcers would rather not deal with necrophiliacs, those guys are creepy as [censored]

And really, when you go to town with a corpse, who's going to complain? Certainly not the corpse

One of the few reasons you'd rather stay away from them, don't you think?

Clever philiacs....

I did too, but I haven't used followers in awhile, so I haven't noticed if it was really fixed.

68% of necrophiliacs reported "desire to possess an unresisting and unrejecting partner" as their motivation.

I actually feel rather sorry for them.

Then you remember that they... "get it on" with dead people and you stop feeling sorry for them.

It is. In 1.9 you can give any bow to your follower and he/she will use it. You can also remove the default bow from the followeres inventory.

Must be your lucky day since Lydia still won't indulge my request to upgrade her bow.

the stupidest thing about it is he'll equip the new bow right away and then switch to his old bow right before going into battle....and it won't let me take his default gear so i'm assuming this save it glitched since i also wasn't able to get the aetherium wars book to prompt the quest, i even went to the ruins and started it 'manually' but katria hasn't shown herself at the ruins like she's supposed to, blah

If you're using mods, see that they don't screw the update.

Huh. I've not had an issue with Faendal equipping the upgraded bows and arrows I've given him, though he will randomly decide "EFF THIS NOISE" and rush into battle no matter how far out of range he was with his bare fists.

I don't really do followers anymore, they're nothing but a nuisance outside of the games specifically designed for large party combat. Either they're clipping me with their attacks, ala Fallout 1 & 2 or they're clearing out entire rooms before I've even gotten off the load screen (Damn you, Boone.) I was kind of surprised when I brought Faendal along on my last character so we could be Bosmer Bow Bros how dangerous he actually is, I ended up falling way behind on my own Archery because he'd shoot everything down.

If I were able to use mods then I'd have been able to correct this problem awhile ago. Alas, I play on console and therefore have no super powers.

I hate when people atuomatically assume that everybody has a PC and can use mods. So annoying and elitist.

I wrote "if"; I didn't assume he was playing on pc. Anyway, differect platform, different problem and this topic has nothing to do in the "general discussion" section; it should be in the right platform section. The op didn't even mention on what he was playing, neither did "Collectivism".

Is Faendal on of those followers who will run out of arrows? There are some that need to have their arrows replenished, what I have noticed with them is that once they run out of the arrows you gave them they revert to the default hunting bow and unlimited iron arrow combo. But once you replenish their supply they will start to use the bow you gave them.

Try replenishing his arrows and see if he sticks with the good bow.
