Fish in Alive Waters, or all waters not food?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 4:36 am

I would like to know if Alive Waters which the fishing mod, Fish, that is packaged together in the omod, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30260, has the oversight of the fish
not counting as food (at least with cobl).

I wanted to use them as food on my dinner plate but they don't show up.

You have to create a plugin that adds the ingredients you want to the apropriate cobl leveled lists, then rebuild your bashed patch.

So in another words I have to wait for the author to do it.

Or you could ask the COBL team to add support for Fishing and add it as one the master of the Cobl Filter Late MERGE ONLY.esp
But Dewshine who wrote that file has not been active for a long time and there has not been any COBL updates in a long while either.
Alternatively you could possibe edit the COBL script that handles the eating, but it says "DO NOT EDIT", so that may not be a good idea.

Therein lieth the problem. I can't find all the masters for that file, so I can't edit it at this point. If anyone would care to track down every single master for the file for me then I'd be most appreciative. No point sending me the easy ones: I already have them, it's the ones that aren't available any more or were private releases that I cannot find.

Can't you trick TES4EDIT by making dummy files with the same names?

I know nothing about modding, scripts, etc. I just install and play.
I suppose my immediate hopes for this mod feeding me while relaxing by the shore are dashed.

I wasn't aware that networks had anything to do with creating game mods.
I'm not about to spend time learning that when I have other things to learn that would keep a roof over my head.

Heh, maybe you should have chosen a different nic, then, instead of one that implies a certain degree of computer savviness and willingness to learn.

I have had it on other forums for a few years.
Williness to learn has nothing to do with wanting to create a game mod. That is something completely different.
I was willing to learn how to use OBMM/WB to install mods over the 3 weeks since I purchased the game and I did.

just wondering if anyone has made any progress with adding the food from Fish mod. so that it can be consumed via the dinner plate. i origionaly had alive waters and fishing mod seperate. but found that the amount of fish and variety was quite lacking for my taste anyway. since fish ads quite a bit more pluss combined the other 2 mods i went with that even knowing that i wouldnt be able to eat the resulting catch.

Tejon demoed some time ago that it is possible to script a hunger mod that works with the game's own hardcoded features.

When making ingredients, there is a checkbox in the CS that allows you to declare an ingredient or potion a "Food Item." Normally this is done for the benefit of NPC AI Packages, but it is also possible to wire a primary needs mod in that is able to recognize food based on a simple CS flag, too.

If we can build on that, then I think there won't be any need to support the COBL dinner plate filter anymore.

Other than that there is one other option: remove the masters that cannot be found from the Filter Patch with Gecko. Obviously, this means support for that mod is lost, but otherwise, there probably isn't any other way.

I have the Perfect mod....Simple essentials....years ago i found that the dinner plate gave me problems with recognizing food from mods, MMM, Fish, ect ect...so i went in search of an alternitive and I found the answer in the form of Simple essentials.

covers
Sleep ( Just works..~!) Must get certain amount each day!
Drink Comes with water flasks) You can even empty any potion bottle and fill with water. Wine can be dilluted to get 2 bottles of Drinkable fluid!!
Eat (if the CS calls it FOOD then you can eat it). Doesn't matter what mod adds it.

The Problem is I have NO clue who made this fantastic mod and I also cant find it on the internet? So I cant upload it. untill we figure out who made the Mod....?? No name in the read-me.

Lol This is the read-me...
Spoiler
EATING: No more dinner plate. Just click on the food you want to eat, and it will be consumed. If you accidentally click on something that isn't edible, the mod will tell you so. So no belly-aches from eating silver nuggets either.
You'll usually get more than a fair warning before any penalty is applied--you'll start out 'getting hungry' (no worries), and then go to 'I'm hungry' (...okay...), and after that 'very hungry' (yeah). These stages take some time, so
there's no real hurry to gulp something right down--and if you just don't have a chance to take time out for a meal, you're not going to die. You will feel it, though. A good breakfast will fix you right up.

DRINKING: Pretty much works the same way. Three warnings. In my experience using this with OOO, you'll get rid of your thirst and get drunk at the same time, if you slug down something alcoholic.
I don't recall if you can purchase empty water bottles ingame, it seems to me that you can... somewhere. But I never do. That's where all those low-level potions that I never use come in handy. Just sidle up next to a well, lake, or
river, open your inventory, and press 'E' while you hover your mouse over one of those useless bottles. The potion will be dumped out, and exchanged for a bottle of water. :D But... there are two kinds of water--clean (from wells)
and unclean (all those creatures standing upstream in lakes and rivers, you know). And while unclean water can be used in a pinch and does fix your thirst, you can get sick from drinking it.

That's where wine comes in. Research has proven that a leetle bit o' the graqe added to unclean water destroys germs ... or at least makes them happy enough not to mess with you. So even cheap wine can be your friend--just use
a wine bottle instead of a potion bottle, and you're good to go.
BTW, you'll do yourself a big favor if you carry a good supply of clean bottled water when you go to Elsweyr ... water is scarce in the desert!

SLEEPING: Same three warnings apply to sleeping ... a long dungeon takes you down a few attribute points, inconvenient but not fatal. And there's no sleep deficit involved.

-Go into your inventory while looking at a well, or any body of water, for a lake or river I think you have to be actually standing in the water.
-Hover your mouse over a potion bottle, an empty water bottle or a bottle of wine.(Hover, don't click)
-Click on the 'E' key while hovering.
If you hovered over a potion bottle you get a new filled water bottle.
If you hovered over an empty water bottle you get it filled
If you hovered over a wine bottle, and you've got an empty water bottle, you get two bottles of watered wine.

Getting water from anywhere but a well will give you dirty water. You can drink it but you might get a disease.

This readme by me from posts on the internet....Note it says here that you use the "e" key...but for me its the space bar....MY Jump Key??

?? Gonna start a thread looking for the Owner!! this sooo needs a re-release!

It's been done fro a while, but I've been waiting on the other Cobl files for a release. That's taken significantly longer than I was expecting it to.
