Five years away; what's changed?

Well, besides PES and Elric disappearing, obviously, but I've found the Morrowind Modding History site, so all is well. I also found the MGSO, which had a lot of mods I used to use in it, which was interesting.

The title is mostly a joke, but if there are any absolutely awesome mods that have come out in, well, the last three years at least (I believe I at least looked at some mods in 2012 though it looks like my saves are all mostly from 2010), I'd love to hear about them. I like basically everything- I tend to focus on quests and gameplay, but anything 'cool' is good. In particular, for the first time, I'm planning on playing a character who's focus is magic rather then wacking things with her sword. I think I've grabbed all the Telvanni mods, but anything for the Mage Guild (who it looks like I will eventually tragically betray, but that's the way of things), or that adds new spells and new mechanics focusing on spells would be great! New factions are good, too.

I do have some questions, though and if anyone can answer them I would appreciate it!

A) Are there any need mods out there besides Necessities of Morrowind? I got used to playing with food/sleep in FNV, and then loved INeed for Skyrim. I didn't have anything against NoM, but I figured I'd ask if anything else was out there (and if there are any food mods compatible with it). Also, er, if I do decide to install it and get frustrated... did the bug where you would crash forever in the rain after it was uninstalled ever get fixed, or is there a workaround to it?

B) Vampiric Embrace. I remember it being a fun mod that added a lot to the Vampire experience... and yet had the unfortunate effect of breaking quest and dialog mods due to the greeting overwriting first greetings of NPCS (LGNPC tended to get hit hard). Has any workaround for that been discovered, besides 'not talking to anyone as a vampire you haven't talked to before and seen the greetings of'?

C) For the first time, I think I'm not going to use Tamerial Rebuilt (though it looks like a ton of stuff has been done since those betas I tried), as I'd like to wait to see how they do the connections between mainland and the TR land, and I'd like to play Tribunal with Julan & Shani, Sothas Sil revamped and the LGNPC's 'better tribunal' module. So, are there any good/awesome landmass mods that are where TR lands were that I've thus never touched? I'm guessing most of those would be pretty old, but I don't have a problem with that. I'd prefer places with interesting quests, locations to explore and people to talk to (or at least awesomely designed dungeons) rather then 'wander aimlessly in a pretty but oversized land', though, but if the land is pretty enough, that's okay.

D) Back when I played, Wyre Mashed bashed patch was the way to go, but looking around it seems that's no longer true and I should be making a merged patch with some other program? Yet, er, I haven't caught the name of this program. Any tips here?

E) And this is more a request of the 'find this mod, detectives!' thing, but I remember a house mod set up near Pelagiad (sort of on the road to Balmora). It was a large manor house with beautiful flowers/plants all around it, and certainly enough space to move yourself, companions, five dogs and seven cats, and probably some random stray people, too. I... have no idea what it was called, though, or who made it. Anyone have any ideas?

A ) There's Basic Needs by Nethellus. A very stripped down and straight to the point needs mod. It's also highly compatible with other mods if I remember correctly. Apart from that NoM still seems the way to go.

B ) Still a problem. I've been looking for a fix for ages, but I've decided just to stick to LGNPC and use Oblivion Style Vampires instead.

C ) TR had 2 major updates, but is still far from finished. Lyithdonea by Melchior Dahrk is an incredible Landmass mod, though it's still in alpha stage. Try it out. Now. (You might also take a look at the ongoing ModTown 2015 project.)

D ) Wrye Mash still does the job for me, but a lot of people use tes3cmd's multipatch which is a bit cleaner and has more options.

E ) Sorry, can't help you with that.

Could be Abu's retreat by Phoebe or Korana made one in that area too (a little newer) but I can't remember the name.

edit: Ascadian Rose Cottage. If that's the one you remember get Gaius Atrius's update for it.

I recommend http://modlist.altervista.org/morrowind/index.php?operation=view&pk0=30, and for older things, you could take a look at DEG showcases in http://modlist.altervista.org/morrowind/?quick-filter=landmass/http://modlist.altervista.org/morrowind/?quick-filter=quest categories

Hi Mka, and welcome back

On © : i share your views on TR, so I'm not shifting any of my landmasses. If you click on the HAVE FUN below, you'll get transferred to My Mod's Site. The site was crap in 2010, and the mod still needed quite a lot of tuning. I'm still working on the latter, but compared to then, it's way better.

It's a big huge colossal mod, so i'll leave it to the Site to tell you what it's all about, but i can tell you i advance that it is quite violent.
