Fixed amount you can carry?

Post » Sat Jul 30, 2011 12:37 am

As most of you know in Skyrim they have removed Attributes.

( http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/116/1162328p1.html "The eight attribute categories from the previous Elder Scrolls game, Oblivion, have been cut out. Now you only have to worry about your Magicka to cast spells, Health for your hit points, and Stamina, which serves as a limiting factor when pulling off axe slashes and mace bashes in combat")

One of those attributes was Strength, which determined how much you could carry. Without it, will the amount you can carry be fixed? Or does Stamina now take over that role? If so I find this a bit of a downer, the fact that an ancient mage can carry the same as a huge warrior is a bit odd. What do you think?

I believe they said somewhere that upping Stamina will up carry capacity. Not sure how I feel about that, but we'll see.

I got 3 things to say:

1. Warriors carry all their shizz.

2. Wizards got magic unlimited bag of epicness.

3. Thieves don't need a lot to carry........ :banghead:

my guess is health will govern to and extent what you can carry and will function as a strentgh type governer stamina will do the same for speed magicka will act as a governor for intelligence. The will be there inside the in game mechanics. As in alot of rp games strength useally raises youre health or hit point.Speed is useally tied to stamina .Inteligence is useally tied to mana or Magicka. Thus youre warrior types will end up selecting health more often and be stronger theif will end up adding more stamina adding more speed and Mages will end up selecting more magicka .On level up youll get to chose one of three and the results will passivlely add to youre carrying limit sprinting duration and magicka pool.

It's been stated in the Fan Q&A that Stamina effects Encumbrance.

No, I went back and reread it just to be sure. Max Encumbrance starts the same for all races, but it can be raised through the Stamina attribute.

I ONLY carry what I myself would be able to carry... so this makes no difference. I cannot enjoy TES when I have 25 swords in my invent, 10 helmets, and 100 healing potions.

I think maybe it's stamina = good cardio and leg strength. The cardio makes more sense but it CAN coincide.

I believe Stamina takes over for Strength (Encumberence) and Fatigue.

The first thing im gonna do, is find the Cheapest House and then go through the Forests for Flowers or whatever to Boost my Strength and then get a Job to earn Money till i have Enough to Buy that House.

When im done with that, im gonna Explore and find/Sell Items and collect More things for Feather.

Oh by the way, the House will be for the things i collected to be dropped in a Chest for later.

The reason for this is that i Hated being Overweight or never have enough Money.

Even though I think the game looks amazing enough to be better than any past ES game, I'm still sad that they removed attributes. It would have been cool if they were made like FO 3s so you can choose them in the beginning and then you're pretty much done with them. Its nothing thats gonna stop me from being in love with this game though.
