Just wondering, I skimmed the Cyrodiil lore on the uesp and it didn't say anything about this. Are there any books or people who talk about these things in game?

I don't think so. If anything, the flag would be the http://images.uesp.net//d/da/SeptimFamilyCrest.png. Although now, it would prabably be a crest of the Mede's.

Why would Beth put so much lore about characters and events, yet not anything about the country itself?

Imma take a stab at it and say its because the provinces/countries have changed so much over the years, especially after the oblivion crisis, because apparantly (bookstore is being a tortoise at getting the infernal city in) there is much destruction and change in The Infernal City.

I hope they at least show some facts about the place we're all gonna be playing in in TES V

Ya. Some of them don't really make sense though. Anvil's is like a weird colored checkerboard. I have no idea what Cheydinhal's is. And Bravil just svcks.

CHeydinhal's looks like some weird snake/serpent thing. And I dont see how they reperesent the city (except for Chorrol & Bravil), I mean, what has an eagle got to do with Bruma?
But overall, Leyawiin has my favourite, just wish it was for a better city.

Bruma is definitely my favorite, I just like the whole black eagle on goldish background. I was really hoping Cyrodiil had a flag though

Well, Tamriel isn't Earth. Even there weren't any flags until the end of middle-age.

If they design one for TES V, I think a flag with a picture of White Gold Tower on it would be nice.

Word. I think it's strange if Cyrodiil has no flag of its own. White Gold Tower would be awesome, maybe combine it with the Septim crest or the Red Diamond.

That's a thorned stem (of a bramble or similar plant). That's why the Thornblade is one of the optional rewards for rescuing Farwil, leader of the Knights of the Thorn etc.

Eagles are mountain birds, Bruma county is mainly in the Jerall Mountains. Fits perfectly.


Indeed, the dragon in a diamond motif is on the banners in the IC, but it's not clear which way round the relationship goes. Are the Septims using Cyrodiil's symbol, or is Cyrodiil using theirs? Or is that only a symbol for the Imperial City (home of the emperor)?

The Red Diamond is the symbol of the Cyrodilic Empire -- it is connected to Alessia, the First Empress, and symbolizes the pact Alessia made with Akatosh.

Ah yes I remember in the tutorial when Uriel said something like I don't really remember for sure if it was him that said but somebody did during the main quest =/. What does the red diamond look like I've never actually seen it?
