Eh. Flails are my favorite medieval weapon and all, but my god, can you imagine programming those in the game without them being the most buggy things ever? It's so hard to include flails in a game with physics like we have today. Too much effort for too little pay off. Spend time on better things, I say.

If it comes down to spears vs flails, I would choose spears. Spears feel perfect for Skyrim. Hell, our ancestors used it to hunt down mammoths! Flails feel more European crusader medieval.

Sadly I have to agree with Velorien. It would be so awesome though.

Flails are one of those weapons I couldn't master, so odd. Guess it was an effective weapon for certain situations, but the spear was so much more versatile.

Regardless, my answer is just like that of spears.

If BGS can get it right, go for it. If not, best to leave it out.

One look at the way things have worked under Havok physics and I can only imagine flails as painful comic relief. Hit giant for 10 points, flail head Havoks back into you for 25 then begins a frantic match of "ping-pong to the death!"

I guess if you want. I doubt they will be in just because I dont see it as an effective weapon.

they could try but flails would be hard to implement, you are technically not able to block with it
so even if they were in the game they would be a flail :D

Just remembered, NVN had flails I think. Obviously, very different style game, but I remember dual wielding flails. Awkward.

You could stick them in the ground and play extreme tetherball!

If the devs have time, it would be cool, otherwise w/e.

Only if when you are an a Journeyman or less with Blunt One Handed weapons you have a 50% chance of hitting yourself in the head.

I'm with everyone else on the whole spear vs. flail thing. I go with spears, they just seem to fit so well with the whole dragon thing.

I wonder if you could give the flail a skeleton, then use Havok Behavior with it to give it more realistic movement?

Just because it's on a chain doesn't mean they have to use physics. It would be nice, but they could just have an attack animation. They had chain physics in OB, so they could do it though.
