Flame wars on this forum are good for the game

Edit: This conversation was split off of another thread....

The critical posts (and responses) I removed from this thread sounded a bit like an issue with an individual rather than about the video, per se. Regardless, the thread was starting to flame. The PM system is perhaps better suited than public forum for these types of disagreements....

Buttt buttt...CH4ANCE, we love flame wars on the xbox front. It makes everyone just feel so warm and good inside. Creates an atmosphere that is soo constructive to having a vibrant community. Were like TNT "We know drama," since the banning of certain individuals (its been a long time coming) the xbox forum has gotten so boring and so full of excessive videos.

I used to check this forum out to see what crap other people were saying against you or what and in complete honesty, it was the bickering and the arguing here on the forums that made the game (C2 and a little of C3) so competitive. I'm not defending certain players actions because it got ridiculous and out of hand very fast. However, this is where several clan rivalries and player rivalries were born and where feelings and opinions were expressed passionately and intensely. The Crysis community has lost that spark that made the game so competitive at times. When I play (rarely) crysis 3 with friends its always the same old crap. Everyone rolls around in big squads trolling noob lobbies and running away from any sign of competitive action.

So...I'll say it again for the sake of both the C2 and the C3 communities, to my friends and enemies and to those that don't give two sh!ts. If you run into other good players, stay, if you lose, stay, you might get 'em next time. If you win, there's no need to trash talk and yes, stay for the next round, you might not do so well. If the only people you're running into are noobs and you are in a squad of 4, 5, 6 split up in the lobby and play each other. Seek out other good players; i have 89 xbox friends, 81 of them have played crysis so don't make the excuse "i can't find competition" because its there. the "Join game" option works wonders.

But, if you actually like stopping noobs all day with friends, if you like backing out from competition, if you like bragging about your 4+ kd and wl ratio and you do the first two things then you are #1 a loser and #2 pathetic. Your stats are worth about as much as the American dollar in Norway (which is absolute sh!t in case you were wondering) if all you do is troll noobs all day.

And yes this is "constructive criticism" because TG is know to do some of the above^

Healthy, friendly trash-talking is usually pretty identifiable -- your point about encouraging competition is reasonable enough. As to the historical value of drama in this particular forum, well.... ;)

OP and video link from the original thread was here...

Well we'll just have to agree to disagree. ;)

But back to the video and, I guess, the only reason this forum exists these days.
