Same here.

Was using the latest betas, switched to WHQL and now I see major performance issues. But the flashing white/black boxes remain.

Windows 7 64bit
i7 860
GTX 480
4GB RAM

This problem seems to be AA related. Disabling AA, I haven't seen them again.

I'm noticing the white flashes as well, almost as if there's camera flashes and I notice some edges of objects have fine white pixel like spots.

My system is:
Windows 7 64bit
i5 750
GTX 470
4GB RAM

Running the latest WHQL Nvidia drivers myself.

Wonder if it's a 400 series only issue.

Agreed. Same results after disabling AA.

So, you're gotten better New Vegas performance with the 260.93 beta drivers?

I Found the problem.

It is HDR in the options menu causing it.

Simply change HDR to Bloom or None to fix this problem.

A shame as I like the look of HDR much more then Bloom.

Note to the DEV team, can you please look into HDR on the Nvidia 400 Series?

Yeah, I can confirm this as well the white dots go away with Bloom, but HDR did look so much better.

If it is nVIDIA only, and not also reported by Radeon users, you should be addressing nVIDIA's software engineers, I believe.

Guess Nvidia will have to release newer drivers if FO:NV is not at fault here. Which it does appear to be a nvidia only issue.

Ran into same issue. Tried disabling HDR and did not resolve the issue, but disabling AA did.

System:
Windows 7 x64
Core i7 965 3.2
2 GTX480 in SLI mode
6 GB RAM

Drivers - WHQL 260.89

Will also bounce over the the Nvidia forums and see if it's been reported/discussed there.

I have a GTX 460 and I get the same flashy dots and sparkling edges. If I disable anti aliasing they go away, but the game looks bad w/o it. . Tried latest beta and nonbeta drivers w/o any change. Obviously a 400 series nvidia issue.

people with 200's are having issues too. its more than likely a nvidia specific issue regarding drivers.

this means we might be sol until the next iteration of drivers

I disabled AA from the in-game options, and then forced AA from my Nvidia control panel, and that seems to have solved this particular issue.

I am not able to get my nvidia control panel to force anti aliasing on when it's turned off in the game prefs.

I am having the same issue as you all are having. I haven't been able to get the nvidia control panel settings to take in-game, global or game specific. The problem does go away with AA off but it looks awful. I haven't tried turning HDR off but I would rather have the weirdness than no HDR :(

So between the massive NPC related slow downs on older NVIDIA cards and the anti aliasing issues on newer ones.... this game is non-NVIDIA playable. Yay!

GTX 460 1GB on Windows XP. I'm tempted to install my 8800 GTX to see if a much older card has the same issue.

After using the DX9 fix, the HDR+AA white flashy dots has gotten better. They are still there, but to a lesser extent. I hate using bloom, so I might just put up with them assuming they don't get worse.

I wonder though, if dropping a different .dll in the folder fixed the NPC slow down problem, is there something that we can "drop in" to fix this problem? FO3 and Oblivion didn't have this problem for me, so it makes me wonder.
