Flaw With The Hit Detection?

Post » Mon May 27, 2013 11:55 am

There seems to be a flaw with the hit detection (More than just the classic "I empty a clip and you don't die"). Every time I try sprint next to an enemy or jump over an enemy, the enemy will always hit even if the gun isn't even pointed towards my general direction.

What usually happens is:

Example 1

1) I have a firefight with an another player. Both players are very close to each other.
2) I power jump when I'm right next to the enemy.
3) I'm dead even though the player was still looking forward instead of behind him/her.
4a) Killcam shows I did power jump, but the player still hit me even though he was shooting at nothing.
4b) The killcam sometimes shows how the player's crosshair instantly moves to my character's upper body when I power jump. Small flaw with the aim assist?

Example 2
1) I have a firefight with another player. Both players are very close to each other.
2) I decide to run away by running past the enemy.
3) I die after I have run past the enemy.
4) Killcam shows the player didn't point towards me but still manages to hit me.

So basically, player can hit an enemy without pointing at him/her if the enemy was very close to the player very recently. I have never notice this kind of stuff outside of very close range.

This seems to be more of an issue with the hit detection than with the connection, since the delay with the character is far, far worse than how it usually works. Has anyone else noticed this?

I never had this problem. But it probably the point blank modifer and killcam. First, the modifer kill you extremly fast. Second, the killcam is not that accurate, from my view im power jumping, however, the enemy pint of view, im ALREADY DEAD, before i jump. But it could be the aim assist, what weapons are theying using?

Yeah, I know about the buggy killcam. It looks like your actions are delayed compared to what the enemy sees. The enemy always seems to be about a second or two late compared to what you see so that power jump thing is quite usual sight.

This happens with enemies who use automatic weapons. But the point blank modifier doesn't sound like it would fit with this thing (Plus it was decreased with the most used automatic weapons). They hit even though they can't see me and even the killcam shows that even they could see that I already had ran past them or jumped over them. The point blank modifier just doesn't fit there since the player doesn't die almost instantly. :/

Its probably the insanely strong auto aim. So strong that the kill cam can't catch up.

From the kill cam ,some guns seem too act like a shot gun ,no way was the gun pointed at you but your hit ,like buckshot in BF3 ??

No, kill cams are generated host side, meaning if the Host is lagging for say, It would create a "bugged" kill cam, creating various strange kills
