Flying Creatures (other than dragons)

Post » Thu Jan 27, 2011 1:11 am

I personally hope that there will be more flying creatures than Dragons in Skyrim. I loved Morrowind where the cliff racers would sweep down on you from high in the sky and your level 1 character has to run for his life. I loved the challenge of it. I really hope cliff racers make a return its a shame they were not in Oblivion. But any ideas on any other flying creatures you would like to see either from past games, from lore, or from anything else that seems to fit?

I think that flying should be reserved for dragons, it sort of adds to their uniqueness in a way. Makes them feel extra epic when they're able to do certain things that no other creature can do.

Flyyyin, flyyyiiin in the skyyyyy. Cliff Racer flyyyys soo hiiiighhh. :obliviongate:

In all seriousness, I wouldn't mind other flying non-boss enemies. As long as they aren't as annoying as Cliff Racers in Morrowind (or Rakk in Borderlands for that matter)

I'd like a few cliff racers off to the east, maybe if you get too far into the Morrowind mountains... just for fun.

Birds as actual creatures, that will land and fly away from you and can be hunted for feathers (?).

Well beast race %PCname with levitation :teehee:
Also if I remember well Dragons was driven from Morrowind by Cliff Racers, then Cliff Racers was driven from Morrowind by Saint Jiub
Cliff Racers before inhabitant in mountains of Skyrim thats their habitat.
So Civil War conflict in Skyrim will be between Cliff Racers and Dragons, since Dragonborn kills dragons we know who will win thats war.
But if be serious there was birds in trailer, http://images.uesp.net/5/58/SR-concept-WordWall.jpg, Ice Wraths seems hover overground, It will be really awesome if AI actually will be use all advantages of flying

I honestly hated the cliff racers in Morrowind probably because they are EVERYWHERE and they targeted you from a long distance away so it made them quite hard to avoid...
On another note i would love to see the inclusion of birds/bats etc i think that would really help the immersion of the game. :)

Other flying creatures? As long as it's not "creature hovering above ground that still moves like it's landbound" like Oblivion, which is really just masking the issue of rather bad AI. Hoping that's improved.

Flying Storm Atronachs. Come on. That's awesome.

Gotta get feathers to make your arrows right? This would be a good addition, even if they are non hostile. Killable birds for fun and sport is in almost any game with ranged weapons. RE, Halo, etc.
