FNIS 4.0 Beta 3: custom CREATURE animations added

Post » Wed Jul 17, 2013 3:06 am

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11811 is available
This version allows to define custom animations for standard creatures in the same way as for characters. Creature mods can define AnimLists for creatures with the same functionality and syntax.
There is a first mod, http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/38384, which makes use of this new feature.
I hope this will activate some new animators. With the experience I made with the furniture animations it looks like most animators have given up on Skyrim. What a pity from my point of view.
EDIT: I wanted to add a few pics from the FNIS Zoo mod and tried doing it with "My Media". But that accept anything. Not a PC link, not mediafire, no drag-and-drop, no IE, no Chrome, ... Can anyone explain please what I can do with that?

This is very interesting, and very exciting - I just hope we have the modders to take advantage of it!

Maybe for lifestorock - I'm really just the concept designer and general ideas guy, lifestorock is the tech guru :)

So I hope he reads it.

I made FNIS 4.0 a beta only, because I expect changes once things are used. The same for furniture animations and arm offset animations. But I need feedback from modders actually working with that.

Excellent. Any luck with paired animations yet? Also, I would very much appreciate some feedback on my behavior tool if you have the time to check it out  . It's pretty much a beta but I decided to throw it out there anyway.

Well, I for one will be diving in head first with all this once I come back from holiday in two weeks. My hoverbike has been feeling neglected, I've been too distracted by other projects. Once I'm back this will be my focus. Hopefully it will go smoothly, but I'm not ruling out the opposite so expect to see a few confused posts from me :P

Pics aren't allowed in the gamesas forums. You can link to them though.

Also I expect dancing bears and mudcrabs soon.
