FNV: Cazador Wasps and other fearsome Creatures

Which ones have you found and how do you fight them? I'd say the wasps with the orange wings are my most dreaded monster of the wastelands so far, and I thought the Giant Radscorpion was tough. Thankfully, I stumbled onto a Gauss-type rifle in the wastes which evens the odds, quickly.

Great to see such high powered monsters so early into the game instead of leveling up to them. Just wish there were more raiders or more Faction attacks. I miss all the Raiders from Fallout 3.

cazadors are a [censored] no lie but using a melee weapon like the fire axe usually will get them in 1 or 2 hits. dont try to shoot em with low power guns or youll just get fed up lol radscoripans and deathclaws are pretty easy to kill with the Laser RCW or a plasma rifle. rcw works best with its insane dps.

Cazadors scared the crap outta me when I first started encountering them. I'm a creature of habit...headshot, headshot, headshot. Unfortunately, that kept getting me killed. Then I learned a couple of blasts with a .357 to the wings drops them like...well...flies.

Other: Let Boone do the dirty work while I take potshots from a safe distance, or just stay out of the fight altogether. (My character isn't a straight up gunner, more of a smooth operator.)
Or, the ever useful tactic of: FLEE! OHGODITSRIGHTBEHINDME! :ahhh:

I've had little experience with Cadazores - my first encounter with them was more or less successful, and I haven't found any since.

My bane happens to be Night Stalkers. God, wy do they have to appear in such huge groups when they're formidable enough on their own? It doesn't help that they glitch when hit in VATS and take zero damage...

At level 18, the Cazador Wasps are still tough when they're in groups, and they cover a wide area of the map. They stung Lily the Super Mutant Companion unconscious, but without her, I wouldn't have the leverage to blast them without them all flying towards me at once.

I'm using a secret "Gauss type" rifle, like the one from Fallout 3 DLC Anchorage, which pretty much wipes out everything in sight in most 1 or two shots. Shooting the wings is a good tip, and I'll have to try the fire axe, but hope they don't sting as I try. The Entomologist Perk (with Survival 45 requirement) is the next perk I'm going for.

FNV Poison is much better than FO3's. In FO3, you'd get stung by a Giant Radscorpion, and have no ill effects. In FNV, it lasts for awhile or until using anti venom. Nice addition.

Every enemy that is really dangerous to me I just sit behind something, shoot a fireball with the incinerator hide then hightail it out of there and shoot another one.
Works pretty fine for me. :)

I've found that a minigun works wonders for swatting Cazadors. They are right up there with Deathclaws as my most hated opponents.

I found me an incinerator...does a heckuva job.

Also, I tend to use VATS when fighting hard-to-hit insects.

Cazadors: Minigun, and the Submachine gun 10mm too. The flamer or Incinerator work well mostly.
Deathclaw: I'll have to try the plasma rifle, which worked well in Fallout 3.

Went swimming and stumbled into a cove with atleast a dozen murk lurkers.
Started slamming chems and dodging there blue energy balls.
Killed em all but took a good 10 mins to come down off all the drugs.
The screen effects from drugs and poison is awesome. ;)

It truly depends upon the creature at hand. Right now my companion Boone is godlike because I gave him that 308 sniper rifle and I fought 5 super mutant masters at once with him demolishing them. Now that's not to say he's invincible, but he makes great backup at long distances.

I'm setup to deal with projectile based weaponry and this combined with the All-American gun helps out. What i'll do is start out at long range and try to pick them off along with Boone and Ed-E to whittle their numbers down. In CQC i'll use my Caravan Shotgun loaded with Slug rounds to help out or load up my 10mm Sub machine-gun with Hollow Point rounds sometimes AP rounds if necessary. The 10mm weapon with extended mag helps out and is brutal when combined with Boone using the 308 sniper rifle.
