FNV Change French Language to English?

Post » Sun Jan 31, 2010 8:48 am

Hi,
I just bought FNV in France and it had http://www.cdiscount.com/jeux-pc-video-console/pc/fallout-new-vegas-jeu-pc/f-103091503-0093155125070.html of any language. So i supposed it was the Original Version.
Game is in fact in French and i would like to switch it in English Language. Be aware that i'm French but prefer the games in original version because VO is always better :)
So where is the multilanguage pack or English pack or WTF pack to make it possible?
Thx in advance & Regards.
PS : Should i mention i have bought & played both Fallout 1 & 2 in the past, and am an addict of this universe. [snip]

SOLUTION:
"In the PC/Steam version, you can change the language of the game in the properties. Obviously, part of the files have to be redownloaded, so you'll have to wait a while, but yeah, you
can easily play it in English."
Go on the Steam list of games you own, right select Fallout New Vegas then Properties then Language then English. DL Starts. Period.

Except the Quebecois edition I believe each copy of FONV is monolingual so getting the English voice over work would require purchasing an English copy.

:sigh:
I have a friend who just bought the English version. Could i install his version & insert my serial key to it? Would my saves work in the new environment?

No, your french version is already registered to your Steam account, just like his english one is registered to his account.

Maybe he could send you his files, especially the ones that could be relevant to language - for instance voices.bsa?

Thing is, there should not be 'maybe' in this world for legal customers, only full support.
But yes, that is my ultimate resort. And i will try it.

Hungry Donner probably just missed the fact that it's the PC version from the link and assumed you were talking about a console version, which indeed would be monolingual.

Language changing svcks when it comes to gaming, and the French language has been especially harsh to me.
