Fnv Keeps freezing at or before the bethesda softworks logo

Post » Mon Jun 15, 2015 6:37 am

When ever I startup the game it does this now

Things I have tried:

  • Checked Load order
  • verified integrity of steam cache( it keeps on saying that I have 1 missing file and will be reacquired but it says this whenever i verify the game cache)
  • uninstalled raptr
  • uninstalled and reinstalled game
  • updated drivers
  • recreated ini files
  • ran in windowed
  • tried using fake fullscreen mod

Note I am running with fnv4gb, also im not very experienced at modding and messing around with files

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated

Have you tried the game without any mods or the 4gb fnv launcher.

Also please post the full dxdiag.exe report in spoilers.

Have you added a new mod you've only recently played with? I kept crashing when I entered the Strip, it was the 'Full casino' mod that was causing it.

Usual cause of crash before main menu is a missing master file. Try running the game with only FalloutNV.esm enabled. If it starts, some mod of yours requires an esm file that is no longer present.

Another reason can be messed up menu XML files (and i've had that a lot with New Vegas). Delete fallout New Vegas/data/menus folder and have Steam reload any missing files.

If it still crashes, delete all ini files in My Documents/Saved Game/Fallout New Vegas folder and have the launcher re-create them.

If it still crashes, then it's probably a conflict with some other software on your system
