FNV to limited

Post » Mon Oct 26, 2009 1:12 pm

The Invisible barriers bother the heck out of me in FNV. I miss making a ladder out of ammo boxes to climb a chain link fence or finding soft spots in a rock to glitch under a map in FO3. Some would say the barriers make the game better, They're wrong It makes you feel like your being limited. I didnt feel that way with fallout 3.The only place ive glitched out of the border is the south Colorado river, Not much to see there but still fun to go so far off the map you cant see your arrow any more. I hate the barriers in FNV. For all you who like Barriers think about the Beta Tesla canon in FO3.

it is to deal with NPC AI, pathfinding, i know it is annoying, but what're you gonna do, Bethesda rushed the game through production Obsidian didnt really have that big of a team, what can you expect when they were above their weight class, so to speak, and being rushed at the same time.

You have a point but still Glitches are fun and the lack of the ability to explore outside the map is killing me.

Bethesda: I'm happy for you and i'm probably not gonna let you finish, but Gamebryo made me a lot of money so you have to use it as a frame, but we aint going to help you work out the bugs in its system.

This is a joke, i love Bethesda to an extent, i really like TES, just keep it out of my Fallout.

The "to" in your title should have "two" o's, forming "too".

the terrain and geography overall was lousy i thought, near jacobstown was cool but thats about it, it didn't have enough on the map even apart form the invisibile walls, but that was a problem also, geographically the areas were kinda bad, no cover hardly anywhere, you were out in the open wherever you were, no good places to hide, sneak around , stalk enemies etc, so the overall layout svcked, FO3 terrain was better plus there was lots more rubble and buildings to take cover in and hide, it even could of been better but it was a lot better than new vegas, its like wherever you went in new vegas you were out in the open, i hated that.

Mojave is a desert, it would be pretty open. If you really want to "stalk" NPC, I suggest you play those games

the game has sniper rifles, silencers, mines etc plus a sneak skill along with stealth perks so fallout is that type of game thats an element of combat, stealth and sneaking, its obsdian that doesn't make fallout like that, bethesda makes games fairly combat oriented, i spent countless hours in FO3 stalking enemies in the dc ruins, sniping, laying mines and in all the dungeons. and even though new vegas is a desert, it could of had a lot more buildings, towns and better terrain for that element in the game , there wasn't any cover anywhere really, so not using artistic license to make the game challenging, interesting and fun and to not make use of all the weapons, perks and skills in the game is stupid and i won't be buying any more dlc for new vegas cause its boring after a couple playthrus, and i probably won't buy any obsidian games because of the lack of quality combat.

Fallout games aren't supposed to be about the combat.

it doesn't matter what old fallout games were made like, bethesda games are combat oriented and a fallout game made by bethesda will feature plenty of combat, dungeons and decent enemies to fight, obsidian might make their fallout games like that, but i am expecting, combat, dungeons, fantasy elements and just tons of stuff to do in any bethesda game i buy. whether its fallout, the elder scrolls or any other franchise they do.

Exactly. New Vegas is a obsidian game. Fallout 3 is a bethesda game.

I prefer well written games and IMO an interesting story over combat. Even the combat was better in NV anyway.

That being said it does well empty sometimes...even though its a desert.

How does not being limited make an RPG any better? (or the reverse... How does being limited by it make an RPG somehow worse?)

Actually I don't see how your complaining about no being able to wander out of the map. There is literally nothing to do out there.
