Hello,

I'm very frustrated right now. Everytime I start Fallout New Vegas, it crashes. I even deinstalled it and downloaded it again, but it still doesn't want to work. Can someone help me? It's extremely frustrating.

The first thing I'd check is your mods. An instant CTD on start-up usually indicates a missing or late-loading master file.

If you haven't used https://code.google.com/p/better-oblivion-sorting-software/downloads/list on your load order, download it from the link I provided, install it, and run it to sort out your load order. Open the BOSS log and read any messages it gives regarding your mods, and take care of any problems those messages alert you to. For the time being, ignore the messages regarding cleaning the masters with FNVEdit.

If the game still crashes on start-up, post the sorted load order here and we'll go from there.

Please, please, please tell me you're using a mod manager for your mods, as opposed to the unholy creation that is the vanilla game launcher. The odds are it's your load order. Try disabling all your mods and then retrying, then re-enable them one by one in order to see which ones conflict.

There's only one strange thing. I already used BOSS before my FNV constantly crashed, and I now installed all my mods again, used BOSS to correct the load order and it suddenly worked.

I of course use a mod manager. I'm using the Nexus Mod Manager.

BOSS does it's magic by altering the Date Modified timestamps on your mod files. The game loads plug-in files from the earliest to the latest Date Modified on those files, so by altering the timestamps BOSS can force it load them in the correct order. From the sound of it, when you reinstalled your mods, those timestamps all went back to their original values, so BOSS had to fix them again.
