FNV style dialogue skill checks?

Post » Mon Oct 04, 2010 12:57 pm

Personally I really liked how Obsidian implemented skill checks into the dialogue of FNV. It actually made more sense compared to how it was in FO3, and I would like to see this return in Skyrim.

For example, if you're in a conversation with a alchemist and your alchemy skill is sufficient than it would open up an additional conversation option where they might tell you a new recipe. Or when talking to a warrior and you're a mage, than your conversation would be more limited than when you're a warrior too with sufficient sword skills.

What do you guys think?

I like that. It would be nice combined with the new real time dialogue. :D

It worked really well in New Vegas so I hope Beth implements that system in Skyrim.

I liked this as well, although on rare occasion it cut content out illogically.

Yes. No more disposition and ridiculous mini-games. They'll learn from Fallout.

Also, it would be nice if there was unique dialogue depending on your race/gender. The High elves have never been on good understanding with the Nords in Skyrim, so if you play as a High elf it would be realistic if some Nords were a bit hostile to you. Like how the Ordinators were hostile to you in the beginning of Morrowind, but the more you became recognized as a hero they'd be more civil.

Oh dear lord in hell, don't even get me started on that stupid mini game. The only thing worse is if they implemented the farting mini game from Fable :nope:

I agree, more racial tention(or something) and put in a few sixist a**holes as well. However with the "use-the.skill" type of leveling it could be a bit problematic with speechcraft skill.
Oh, and give us the taunt option beck: that was fun

I certainly hope they have skill checks in their quests and dialogue.

Taunt was fun but it was also an easy way to get someone to attack you so you could kill them and loot their equipment without getting a bounty :)
