FO3 for PC

I am getting a gaming laptop very soon, and plan on getting GOTY Edition and GECK. Please tell me all that I can do with the GECK, and will it ruin the game or mess up the whole computer?

You can do practically anything you can imagine to Fo3 with the GECK. It just takes a bit of learning, and some creativity. Using the GECK can potentially allow you to create mods that will crash the game, and make it not playable. But thats never perminant, and does no harm to your computer. Its a safe tool, and the worst that happens is you have to undo something in your mod to fix an issue. I think you will love it, and should try it out.

Like...could I make changes to stuff already in the game AND start from scratch? Awesome, I only have a PS3 for now. So modding games has always been a passion of mine. From using Action Replays on Pokemon (Still never caught them all) to using Custom Firmware on my PSP.

If you wanted, you could make entirely your own models, and textures and characters and everything and make your own entire game running off the Gamebryo engine. Of course it would still count as a fallout mod, and you couldnt sell it or do anything like that, as its still their engine. But you can also just make small changes if you wanted. Pretty much anything.

Well trees and grass would be simple, just time consuming. And for buildings, if by better you mean shape, then you need to learn how to model, and if you mean texture, you need to learn how to texture.

Any mod to where any building can be your safehouse? I always had my eye on one of those nice mansions in Point Lookout

Yea you can add/modify any interior in the entire game. Just you have to be careful what you do mod because certain things can cause conflicts with other mods and such. Just start modding, and if you have a question, ask us as they hit you. That is the best way to learn. Solve each problem as it occurs.

There is a hidden effect.

You begin to spend less time playing the game and more time playing the G.E.C.K.
