FO3 freezes on project impurity : Fallout 3

Greetings everybody,
I am experiencing a constant game freeze on quest project impurity when I try to choose Fawkes as the one who saves the world. I bought my game from Steam and I only have Broken Steel DLC installed.
It's making me mad: I choose myself as the one to activate the purifier and everything goes fine, I choose Lyons (actually I never chose her) and I suppose that everything goes fine, but as soon as I select Fawkes and Lyons answers me the game freezes.

I don't have my dxdiag by hand but I summarize my computer here:

Ok this thing is becomes very annoying: now I am not able to even launch broken steel dlc for the same reason: as soon as the game starts to load the cutscene that starts broken steel the game freezes and says "Fallout3 has stopped working" and it goes out to Steam.
What the hell is happening?

Ok I fixed this issue by myself this way:

From Steam games, right click on "Fallout 3" and choose "Properties"
Click on "Local Files" tab
Choose "Verify game cache integrity" or whatever, my platform is in Italian

Then starts this file check and detects if there's some corrupted file and starts downloading fresh files (it applies latest patches too: I discovered my Fallout copy updated to some 1.7.xx.xx after this check)
After that I tried and now the game runs ok...well, it crashes some times but I think it's normal <_<
