This problem probally stems from windows 8 or 8.1..

Now with a clean install the game won't even start.. It won't make an fallout ini

I did back up my ini files & made with the necessary changes..

I try to add the ini & use the remove gfwl program..

now my game does start but I ctd...

I really don't remember what I did before to get this game working

any ideas?

Do you have one of those hybrid Intel/Nvidia cards if so you might have to check in the nvidia control panel to make sure Fallout 3 is set to use the high performance card (Nvidia) and also the power options to make sure it set to use the High performance video card (Nvidia)

Other than that it would help if you can post dxdiag.exe results in spoilers.
