Gamescon approaches us vault dwellers, might be alittle early to start up a thread but id thought it would be nice to share opinions on upcoming event (pertaining to fallout).

What are your thoughts/hopes? What would you like to see and what do you expect to see?

Personally I wouldn't be too surprised if they recycled the quakecon demo and rehashed it at gamescon, id much prefer it if we had some new footage AND the gamescon demo. Mabye asking for too much but im a fan who wants more, what can I say.

Anyways for those unfamiliar, gamescon will run from august 5th-9th, and im not sure when beth is going to present fallout 4. If anyone has that info please feel free to share it.

Something tell me they will just show gameplay from a couple of weeks back that had Piper in it.

And the special video for strength I presume, which will hopefully show us the perks but probably won't have the descriptions.

Their doing videos for each special stat?

Yea they are, they started with strength at quakecon.

They have a spot for the "special" on one of the fallout 4 website pages...they all say "coming soon" when you click the tabs.

And I fully expect them to be rather cringe worthy, especially when you read the reasons why they are doing it.

Why are they doing them exactly?

Promotional vids for Fallout 4, gets people excited... well. most people anyway.

Actually Todd did say the videos would contain a description of each perk under each attribute (tho how detailed he didn't say) so I think they are both hype material and a way for Beth to help people understand the new perk chart before game release.

Edit: anyway here is my three speculations for gamescom

1. Fresh content, no reason for Beth to display the quakecon event at another event, how much new content we shall see, not impossible focus will be more on providing more open answers to press then showing videos.

2. Quakecon goes public on youtube, the whole thing was recorded and the time between cons is enough for editing and such to be done

3. Strength video hits YouTube, would make sense, the video series was mention by Todd at Quakecon and so dropping the first alongside the public release of the con showing seams reasonable.

Done know either, but Gamescom is 5-9 August, 5th is for press only and then 6-9 is open to public.

Well, the odds for it being in aren't that great. Surely people understand? Bethesda are great at some things, limiting and challenging players are not among them.

I'd expect it to be the same stuff as Quakecon. But I could just be being pessimistic.

I doubt they take the effort of recording the Quakecon event, complete with Todd's on stage talk, only to show that on another event in some weird eventception.

If we look at E3 as a hint to what they might do I would think they would just re-use the Quakecon footage just slightly altered. At E3 the stuff they showed at the Microsoft demo was very similar to what they used for their own demo. They changed the name of the character and his stats a little, but showed basically the same footage.

BGS has said they don't want to reveal too much of the story so this makes sense to just use the same stuff. They may add in a thing or two that is unique, but I would not expect anything earth shattering. I hope they show the SPECIAL footage soon because they already blew the timeline of reveals I thought they would use.

I predicted, wrongly, that they would show the first video last Tuesday, and then follow up every two weeks with a new one as that would have taken us to just 1 week prior to release. If they wait until after this event to release, then we may not get the last video until the day the game is released.

Super nitpicky, but it's Gamescom with an m. Since they're so close together, I'm guessing they're just going to show the exclusive footage from Quakecon plus 20 seconds of some new stuff.

Hopefully they'll use Female Survivor instead of Male but I doubt that's going to happen.

I followed the event for the past couple years for the Division you would think I would have gotten the name right.

I think many people who were not at the quakecon would be happy about this

MrMattyPlays and some of the other you-tubers seem to think they might show the video they showed people at Quake-con, so we might have a chance to actually see something new.

And yes they might show the new S.P.E.C.I.A.L. video's and would think they took it from the top Strength first and so on.

Since apparently Beth took the time to record the entire con event, including pointing cameras at the live stage, I have a hard time thinking they just show that on the public screen of another con and do some weird conception, nor would they show the gameplay footage when they clearly plan to public upload the Quakecon event so people can see it there.

I WANT TO SEE FALLOUT 4 AT GAMESCOM!! WHO IS WITH ME?
