Hi there,

since the FO4 Pip-Boy Edition is already unavailable in germany (only for ungodly sums on ebay.de), my focus is shifted to the regular version. Since i expect the official german version to be cut like Fallout 3 my question is: will the uncut austrian version (PEGI-AT), be usable in germany or will this game be region locked? A official answer to this question would be really nice.

Skyrim actually wasn't censored, as I recall...? Maybe things have changed.

Fallout has more gore than TES, even with the inclusion of decapitation in Skyrim.

I'm guessing it'll be region locked. Don't know for sure though.

Sorry about your country's censorship... It svcks that you can't play the same games as some other countries

The "maybe" is exactly the problem. I prefer to have a safety i get an uncut version which works in germany. So some info if its possible would be nice.

I can tell you from experience the answer you seek might not be so easy to get.

Your best bet is to tweet Pete Hines and ask him. Other than that, I don't think even Bethesda can answer you (could be something handled by whoever they hire to translate the game) and I know they certainly won't answer you on these forums.

Another tip? Attempt to purchase the American version if you can. I know from experience Steam often recognizes your first copy. I'm German-American, my first copy of New Vegas was German. Asked to have the American version unlocked, they said they were forbidden from doing so and instead advised me to purchase the American copy first next time. (Luckily I bypassed the censors myself through some experimentation, but yeah) My Skyrim copy was German though and that was uncensored.

New Vegas Ultimate edition was uncensored too.

It's not the country who censor the game. The devs have to decide if they want to censor the game to get a lower rating. And if New Vegas and the Witcher (all games) are uncensored... I see no reason for Bethesda to cut the game. But who know what they will do?

No region lock on PS4/ One, might be on steam however extremely unlikely inside EU. People can still play steam games in other countries.

This is only partialy right, since Fallout 3 did only receive the lowest possible rating (18 in germany) with cut content, an uncut version had not received any rating, so it could not be bought in shops like Amazon and there would be no advertisemant allowed...

So the publisher must tailor their games to the demands of the USK in germany or sales for the games would be something between hard and impossible.

Yes. Fallout 3. But as I said... F:NV was released uncut and get a rating of 18. Actually the USK isn't anymore as strict as 2008.

i doubt anyone knows answer to this question atm game is still undergoing QA testing its unlikey we will get a Gone Gold news untill late Aug/sept

my guess PC is real toss up weather they censor it or not 90% sure what ever they decide with PC verison Consoles with follow with whatever trend PC sets

best advice if you don't mind english Import NA copy of fallout 4 for consoles theres no region lock and you for sure have the game as it was intended.
