FO4 story is WAY BETTER then FO3. I really enjoyed it.

WARNING: My First Post in this thread has NO SPOILERS, but other people's repiles to this Thread CONTAIN SPOILERS.

DO NOT SCROLL DOWN IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED.

After 60 hours, I finally completed the main quest.

Without going into too much details, I just wanna say Thanks to Bethesda for such a good story.

Its definitely MILES better then FO3, and actually encourages you to think.

I'm not done with the game of course, but i'm gonna take a break for now.

Gonna have a review up soon, but yea. Thanks again, I really enjoyed my time.

Good that you enjoyed it - But I must disagree personally.

-Story Spoiler Below-

Much of the dialogue system from previous Fallout titles has been stripped and streamlined into - ''Yes, No, Maybe'' - responses which offer no variety to the outcome of your progress or the response of the NPCs. The story pacing I found sloppy with too many straight action scenes that pitted you against wave after wave of enemy. And, of course, there is the whole Memory Den and Teleportation aspect of the story which threw me off and felt completely out of place in Fallout.

Despite some of the poor writing in Fallout 3 I did find the overall story pacing to be of a better quality. Also, the dialogue choices and variety was similar to that of the system in Fallout 1-2.

Considering how horrible the story in FO3 is, that's not really a big achievement.

I also think it's better. Then again, F3 story wasn't exactly the shining gem of videogame writing history.

Erm...actually I think your reply is a MAJOR spoiler lol~

Im probably one of the few who actually enjoyed the Teleportation part lol!
I never use fast travel and always walk from place to place.

I find it extremely immersion breaking to fast travel.

Having teleportation gives me the excuse to fast travel without breaking immersion!! :D

Ahh, apologies. I wanted to mention it while be as vague as possible. I just did not enjoy that part. It felt very out of place for me.

I agree with you.

I think it's not as good a main story as New Vegas but it's a huge step up from FO3.

FO3 you were far more restricted. You didn't really have any choice at all over your quests or how you complete them, the only decision you could make was on the penultimate mission about whether to go Enclave or BoS.

This one I feel I can start making choices quicker. Not quite as well-developed as New Vegas but a big step up over 3.

Indeed. F3 had atrocious story. I did love that game for exploration, but every time I did the MQ I cringed. Holy order of white knights are battling evil dark knights, while you search for bible quoting daddy and purify water.
