I am doing the Revealing the Unseen quest for the college of Winterhold and I cannot focus the oculory. I am using the correct spells and i can see the light beams, but they won't move. I've seen other similar posts on the internet but no answers.

Are you sure you're using JUST Frostbite and Flames? And are you sure you're actually hitting the crystal?

(I know, those are stupid questions but a lot of the times personal error leads to a lot of these "bugs")

Since you've taken the time to create an account just to post about that bug, I assume you've already done all of that and it is still not acting properly.


Try to leave and re-enter the dungeon and if that fails then just find another filesave. Sorry but I haven't heard of that bug.

I tried alternating between Flames and Frostbite as they provide a sustained effect, rather than Firebolt or Ice Spike. It focused around the fifth alternation.

I'm having the same problem too. Lights won't move and I am using the right spells too. :/

use the first magic skills you start with flams and frost i think they are. anyway its the 2 most basic spells that work better then say Blizzard or Inferno

Ok i found out it was a bug caused by leaving the place before I focused the oculatory so I just loaded a save before I exited and it was fine
