Follower Dialogue WTFS

Post » Sat Mar 27, 2010 5:15 pm

Okay so I was watching the missus play his PC vers. and he went to Underworld to pick Charon up for me. He bought the contract, Charon killed his old master and we went happily onwards. But he kept saying 'There has to be more than this...' and some other lines I'd never heard before.
Is that something to do with the PC version, the DLCs or is it just one of those random 'What are you on about, shut up' moments?

I'm not sure that there is much more to it than that. You could take a look at the Fallout wiki page for http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Charon_%28Fallout_3%29. Be warned that it does contain spoilers.

That's fine. :) Edit: I already knew all that XDD

But that kind of thing totally screws your perception of the character. It's like if Clover suddenly started crying. You'd be like, Who the [censored] are you and what have you done with Lover Girl?
Does it happen often? I mean, are there just dialogue lines that are really rare? All he's ever said in my game is maybe three constantly repeated lines. Then he comes out with this and I'm like god Charon, are you on the rag or what?

Another edit: I just went net trawling and I'm shocked to find nowhere has a simple list of things the followers will say while they're with you. :/

Inoryt?! He didn't say it when I picked him up and I can't find any records of it anywhere on the internets????

Jericho is awesome with his packets of [censored]. <--- I just said [censored]. Is that going to be censored? It means gay in America doesn't it? Well obviously I don't mean Jericho walks around with a gay person hanging out of his mouth. That's just STUPID.

Edit: it is censored. Wow. XDDD You know, over here that would earn a  face.
Double edit: You do understand I mean cigarettes. Right? XDD

 You're funny. But yeah, he's pretty good with those cigarettes -- I gave him ONE and he's been using it forever!

Jericho and Butch have the funniest dialogues, among Followers.

Shortly after I ran into the "Fridge In The Middle Of Nowhere" Random Encounter. Jericho goes "I forgot how [censored] up everything was out here"

Also, Butch - "I heard there are dragons out here, you ever see one?". We were walking near Old Olney and I see a red tick on the compass. In the distance a Deathclaw rears its ugly head. I was like, "You just had to jinx me, didn't you?"

Im looking for some shades now to reverse pickpocket onto him, since he keeps asking for em.

 Perfect timing there, Jericho! Love the guy.

Anyway, somewhere in D.C., there's a clothes shop with some sunglasses. I forget where it is exactly, though.

Thanks for that, I've found em before in other playthroughs, so it's just a matter of time. Last time I plucked em off Sam Warrick.

That's the guy! I was gonna mention him, but forgot the name.

But yeah, I could have been more helpful. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Lady_Frumperton%27s_Fashions

You can also find some Sunglasses on a Brahmin head in Dukov's Place. :)

Thanks, I've discovered Dukovs already, headed there.

I wonder what Butches reaction will be. Im taking pretty good care of him, I don't normally do these kinda things for Followers. If he ignores it, Im hiring a hit on him on that other thread. Thanks again! :foodndrink:

Edit: I got em. He didn't even put them on. Hiring a hit now..

Probably because it would take a lot of boring work to do. If you are on the PC, you can download http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php/Main_Page and take a look at the data files. You can find all dialogue for the NPCs by opening the dialogue window.

I'm not, but I'll see if I can get someone to find it and show me, I know people who play the PC vers. Thanks. :D

That's one of the lines from the other ghouls, Bittercup, and Charon's voice actor says it so it sounds a lot like him. Are you sure Charon said it? Did you hear it just in Underworld? Was it a mod? Should I ask you another quesion?

Charon never says that himself in the vanilla game.

I can absolutely give you a list of the comments he makes when you are wandering around with him. Is that what you want?

Edit: I just saw your last comment and realize it is. I'll be back in a bit with it. :)

Edit 2: Here is the complete list of comments he makes while he follows you around. I know it seems short, but that really is the complete list.

YES, it was just in Underworld, Charon got fired after that (to annoy me) so that was the only time... but you're probably bang on XD Probably the reason I was so sure it was him was that LW was facing him (missus plays in 1st person) (he was staring at him and saying 'what an ugly bastard'. especially to irritate me.) and we only have one speaker. XDDDD MYSTERY SOLVED! Thanks, llama, I actually much prefer it if he never, ever said that again. I'll cry. :'(
