Followers and the visage of mzund

just a quick question. If I give a follower the visage of mzund helmet, will they use its special ability?

Nope. As far as I have noticed, the ONLY magical effects the followers use are the staffs and the spells that discharge when a weapon is used or the passive enhancement of an armor that is worn.

My follower (Erik) wears it, and as far as I have seen, it does not work on him.

It is exclusive to dragonborn, I've not tried disenchanting but it seems to me like one of those unique effects that you can't get
