do followers get the benifit of mods?

i was using a fully upgraded laser rifle tell i got the unique gauss rifle...sense i was done with my laser rifle i gave it to veronica.....but when she equips it i dont see any mods on it.....does she still get the benifits?

Even though this will be moved its a good topic. I think each one has a very different set of skills and only wants to use what they r good with. Veronica is the most picky. She really doesnt want to shoot much at all, and in some cases if you force her to use ranged she will use a 10mm pistol that she must have in hear personal inventory instead of a hunting shot gun indoors. All companions seem to recognize damage per second with weapons in their skill set. Veronica is not strong I bet she has like a 3 in strgh. so those are weapons she will use very small arms. They will all use the All American they love that one. So in a nut shell I think they do use the best weapon u give them in their skill set mods or not.

same thing happened 2me. my game gliched and boones scoped hunting rifle ended up in my inventory & it said it would only take some wierd ammo type not even in the game. so i was like dam the f*** man. so i gave him my fully modified sniper rifle & like 2000 rounds of .308. the carbin fiber parts weren't on it & after a small session of some fiends, he said, "ok, this weapon is done." my gun broke, it wasn't in his inventory anymore so he basically chucked it but all my rounds were still there minus like 50 rounds. & after that, his rifle wasn't in my inventory anymore so he took it back & started using it again but i lost my rifle & like 3000 caps of investing in2 it. i was out raged about that.

wow he never does that to me. He uses cowboy repeter, all amerian,bar,assult carbine for me instead of his own weapon. He has never used an energy weapon I gave him. He threw the bar down once but it wasn t broken.

weapons cant break when used by companions and they arent suppost to be able to to drop them

I thought it was just a model glitch, they do use the stats of the modded gun.

Weapons used by followers can only lose CND if directly hit by another weapon. Also, this is how weapons get dropped by followers. Weapons used by followers will never, ever, under any circumstances lose CND from just normal use. Give Cass/Raul a brush gun with SWC ammo to see for yourself.

And yes, something is bugged to hell to modded weapons on followers. Since it's not causing freezes and CTDs the odds arn't good at this being fixed.

well this guy says boone broke one of his. I ll asure that many weapons have been dropped by my followers in fo3 and fo nv

they can only be shout out of their hands
this happened to boones rifle for me as well as when he was carrying the all american

My companion setups -

Veronica - Pushy/Multi-plas rifle Recon Helmet and Assasin Suit
Arcade - Q-34 Modulator/ default ripper Remnant or Arcade Family Power Armor of course
Raul - Mysterious Magnum or La Longue Carbine/ Humble Cudgel Vaquero outfit of course
Lily - Either default blade, Bumper Sword, Oh Baby, or Thermic Lance/ Default silenced carbine
Boone - Gobi Campaigne Sniper/ Liberater NCR Mantle armor(till I finish quest) and Vexilius wolf hood or just his beret.
Cass - Dinner Bell, Chopper.

Courier - This Machine, Maria, 3 holy Hand Granades, Fully modded Sniper Rifle, Holo Rifle. Armored Vault suit, slave scarf, destroyed collar, and lucky shades.
