Follows Chalk leaves, goes back to village and then turns in

Hi, First of all I was just beginning to walk with Follows Chalk after meeting Joshua Graham and getting the job of going to find the compass and then the map we were attacked by some White Legs (I think) and I had just killed one when suddenly Follows Chalk goes back to the village taking away his perk and leaving me with an overload of stuff that I had been putting in his cache. I wondered why he had left as I hadn't been shooting in his direction or anything so I couldn't have made him mad at me or anything but since I now had over 400lbs of stuff I needed to find a place quickly to stash most of it so that I could then go and find him at his village and get him back as my companion.

Ok, I found apace to stash some of the stuff and now headed back to the village and when i got there the entire village, Follows Chalk and Joshua Graham start shooting at me and it didn't take long for them to kill me but I was kindof just letting them since I figured that if they were now my enemies I had somehow screwed up and needed to change that before going on or just starting the new DLC all over again.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? As I said I seriously didn't shoot at hm or anything he just up and went back to the village and when i got there they were hostile and the next time I went all the way about killing all the villagers and Joshua and aside from losing most of the quests I had been given there was no other indication that I had just killed a key payer and also the companion there.

Ok, now all that said I need to know how to start Honest Hearts all over again or at least just after getting through the passage where you are attacked right off the bat or at least some where before the village where Follows Chalk's village is. I would put down all of my systems components and the OS but I doubt if it has to do with anything. Thanks for any advice anyone can give me.

Just for the record I am also getting random crashes n Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with the latest nvidia beta driver on a Toshiba Qosimio X-505-896 gaming laptop. (nvidia 460m graphics card)

You might have killed a Dead Horse. They randomly run around in the valley and CAN be mistaken for a White Leg in a fight

Ya, it's possible although I rarely shoot at something that isn't showing up as an enemy in the "radar". So how do I start all over again? Unfortunately I didn't hard save it at the begging coming out of the Passage. Can I just delete the DLC and then reinstall it? Not sure how to do that on Steam since it doesn't show in a place where it is deletable. Guess I need to ask Steam(?) Anyway, thanks for your post.

Characters are not saved independently of savegame files, ala Diablo/WoW or something similar, so deleting/reinstalling the DLC will not help.

If you have no savegame of the character just before you began the DLC, that you wish to load up and use, you'll have to make a new character. If you're on PC you can use console/cheat commands to level up quickly, if you really want....but the HH DLC is leveled/geared in such a way that you can really do it at any chr. level you want (lvl 1, lvl5, lvl 15 etc). You don't have to be high level to do it.

Thank you m'lady! When last I looked at my save games I thought I was looking at three early on saves and then two in Zion. Luckily I was very much wrong as there was one where I was in my place in Novac and was trying to figure out what I wanted to take me me into Zion that was under a 100lbs so it was just prior to going there. Glad we are...

Again thank you Lady Crimson, you made me go and take a closer look at my saves.
