Post » Tue Jul 23, 2013 6:49 pm

What is this? Brand new install. Did the latest patch. Installeded Fomm and FOSE. The FOSE will not launch.

A quick flash and this: Fallout3.exe- Ordinal Not Found / The ordinal 5360 could not be located in the dynamic link

library xlive.dll.

This is an error from a Fomm crash dump:

The only thing I did before all this was right after the install the game, I optimized the ini for quad core

per instrutions. I am W7 Ultimate. Thanks!

I thought the whole idea of installing the game in a different location was to avoid UAC and windows live. To avoid crashes.

Fallout 3 used Windows Live for DRM. Bethesda switched to Steam for DRM when they released New Vegas and have stuck with it since. But the Steam version of Fallout 3 still requires the Windows Live client be installed on your computer, even if it isn't actually being used for anything.
