From the moment I saw the trailer for FO3, I thought to myself, "This is what I've been waiting for." The dismal setting, the unsettling ambience, the feeling of hopelessness ... This pushed far past the experiences I had with the Resident Evil franchise. A true survival horror to me, even though that is not what the Fallout franchise is meant to be.
As soon as I caught wind of New Vegas, it was a no-brainer, a must-buy. The setting was a little less dismal, the ambience decreased it's uneasiness, and the feeling was somewhat a cautious rage. It was still a survival horror to me. There's places you go, and places you don't.
The gameplay was vastly improved, in my opinion. It is not the same beast I came to know, but it is the same species. I'll never turn my back on either one, but I thank FO3 for grabbing my attention by the throat and driving my face into Fallout. :fallout:
