"Do you want a cooking skill?"

With the game already having fewer skills than Oblivion, do I want to give up a pre-existing skill for cooking?

Oh, hell no!

How about if they put it in without taking anything out? I'd like to be able to fail to cook my meal - and be forced to attempt since eating raw meat would get me sick (unless playing a beast race).

At this point in time, I feel there are skills and then there are crafts. That simple.

~ Things like alchemy, conjuration, and dual wielding will be skills one can apply perks to perhaps

~ Things like cooking, smithing, woodcutting, etc. are crafts, no perks but possibly some benefits.

That's my best guess.

I think the overall consensus is that is shouldnt be a skill but should be in the game. Trust me, you want it like runscape. Imagine actually using the random notes you find around peoples houses, no longer is a shopping list worthless but rather a key to make chicken a la king! Different combos of food make different food. Really complex and rare ingredients make more nutrient meals. Possibly a mini game to determine quality?

Lets just hope its more usable.

Or easier to find ingrediants. Or just not so many high quantities of ingrediants.

I agree. I wonder how it compares with alchemy though...
